Your Name in IMAX
Enjoyed it. I think because I've been hiding from all the hype and promotional material I went in knowing nothing about it and it was a solid film. If I was as excited for it as some people then it might've been a let down. Only went to the IMAX screening because my mate wasn't up for the dub, but the IMAX felt a bit pointless - as nice as it looks subtitles are a bit strange when you're bobbing your head up and down like Bohemian Rhapsody.

Your Name (dub)

Went to see this with my new cinema buddy from work. It was her first time seeing it, and my fourth (but the first time dubbed).

It's a really good dub. Looking forward to hearing Radwimps' re-recorded soundtrack on the eventual BD now.

Rage of Bahamut: Genesis (Japanese audio) - Episodes 9-12 (Complete)
Rage of Bahamut: Genesis (Japanese audio) - Recap

Heh, that's 14 shows and 2 films watched in a month from my backlog:

Deadman Wonderland
Free! Eternal Summer
Full Metal Panic!
Hanamonogatari
High School DxD BorN
Love Tyrant
Mikagura School Suite
Monogatari series: Second Season
Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis
Psycho Pass 2
Psycho Pass the Movie
Rage of Bahamut: Genesis
Robotics;Notes
Sekirei
Sekirei: Pure Engagement
WorldEnd

Netsuzou Trap-Episode 9

Sakura Quest-Episode 22

Black Butler-Episodes 23 and 24 + OVA (Complete)

Although I plan on jumping straight into Book of Circus from here, I am curious how the second season picks up from this anime original ending. It seems quite definite and final.

Dragon Ball-Episodes 68 and 69

Hoorah, the Red Ribbon Army stuff is finally over.

Moonphase episodes 21- 26 (Complete. This was certainly more interesting than the cutesy cat girl vibe given off by the cover. The series manages to be more than it suggests, with a solid soundtrack and animation, accompanied by some good characters. The plot, though not overly original does its job also, it's just a shame they waste an episode on the whole misunderstanding cliche. The last two episodes were also pretty eh. Overall I recommend it) 3.5/5

Fastest Finger First ep 9. This series really didn't need a villain, it was doing just fine without one.

Knight's & Magic ep 9.

Love & Lies ep 9.

Serial Experiments Lain ep 1-3. Wow, there's so much going on here that my mind is reeling. I wish I had seen this when it first aired as it would have been glorious to be able to rewatch it all these years later and see how my reactions have changed. Also, watching this from an exclusively modern perspective I find it's hard for me to tell which elements are intended to be a critique of the society of the time and which are a dystopian vision that has actually become real.

Vatican Miracle Examiners ep 6-8. So many plotholes and improbable happenings.

Future Dairy 20-26 and thus the chapter closes on the ultimate yandere

Aho Girl 9 don't worry sayaka, you'll soon learn you'll get the best guys when your more developed friends become jerk magnets

Monogatari series: Second Season

Out of curiosity, mate, is there a reason for why you got the Aniplex releases of the Monogatari-series over the MVM ones? Was it purely for the extra stuff (nice box + cards) or is there something wrong with the MVM releases (other than being barebone)? Was thinking about giving the series a try and wasn't sure if the MVM releases were up to snuff.

A few years ago (January 2014 to be exact) I thought Aniplex's Bakemonogatari was going out of print and I wanted to own that version because at the time I was initially against MVM (that era was pretty bad for them, they've improved now of course). Eventually it turned out Bake got a reprint and I decided to keep it consistent so I got the rest bit by bit. The currency rate wasn't too bad either as this was before brexit.

I also like Aniplex sets in general, but MVM's are perfectly fine to own if you don't have much funds or just want the episodes and nothing else. All of Monogatari's sets are still in print for Aniplex as it sells for them.

Ah, that makes sense! I'll have to look into how much the Aniplex sets will cost me vs MVM's and then decide based on that. I'll probably buy the entire series at once since I hate having to wait for another BD to arrive when I start watching a show and end up liking it.

AoA will cost you double, if not triple the price of MVM.

Yeah, it kind of sucks that their prices are so high...

But the nice chipboard boxes though! Plus there's the benefit of getting Kizu-, Koyomi- and in the future Owari- S2 much earlier than you would in the UK (MVM hasn't even announced Kizu- and Koyomi- yet).

Yeah both Bake and Nise are chipboard while the rest are cardboard. Kizu is thick cardboard which is better quality.

MVM will eventually release the Kizu trilogy but they have to wait for Hanabee to do so, and Hanabee were forced to wait until all three parts were released in North America first.

Where could I read up on that? And what about Koyomi- that's coming out in December from Aniplex?
