Seraph of the End - Vampire Reign Ep. 01. (on Viewster)

I kinda enjoyed it, I guess. I did spend more time laughing than scared, but I'm weird like that. When people said it had similarities with Attack on Titan, I was expecting something a little less blatant.

Also, the physics of this show are genuinely insane, this 12-year old kid can't drag his 12-year old friend a few metres, but moments later hugs a grown adult so tightly he pushes him to the ground, I'm fairly confident a commercial jetliner wouldn't crash the moment the pilot turned into a vampire, and how did the town get covered in such a thick layer of snow during their, at most, 10 minute fight?

009-1 ep 4-5.

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works s4 ep 13 (complete). What's with all the bendy-buses, I thought Boris was getting rid of those? :p On a more serious note, some particularly beautiful animation and the wider worldview made a for nice ending. Was weird to have that flashback in the middle of the episode, why not just put it at the start where it belonged (or even get rid of it completely, it didn't add anything to the story)? I've had quite enough of the Fate franchise now, I'll probably watch Heaven's Feel whenever that gets released but otherwise I'm done with it.

Plastic Memories ep 13 (complete). They went for the emotional jugular, as expected. My thoughts on this series in a sentence; could have been so much more.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan ep 13. This seemed like a logical place to end the series, so it's odd that there will be another three episodes.

Tiger and Bunny: The Beginning

Deliberately waited until the release of The Rising to watch this. Hmmm. The retelling of episodes 1 and 2 here actually felt weaker than the TV version to me, the extended scenes didn't do much for me and the pacing just felt off. The new scenes were OK I guess, but nothing special.

There was enough in here that reminded me of why I liked the TV series so much, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. Kotetsu remains a superb character and it was good to see him again. However, I doubt I'll ever watch this again, so I'm glad I waited for a sale before getting it. Hopefully The Rising fares a lot better.

Tiger and Bunny: The Rising

Phew, that's more like it! That's the Tiger and Bunny I like. This was great stuff, a satisfying follow-up to the TV series. Bad guys were a bit meh, but everything else was on top form. I really hope we get another TV series in the future.

Seraph of the End Ep. 02-12

Good fun, definitely improves as it goes along. Not amazing, but it's enjoyable fluff. I shall definitely be watching the rest of the season in October (or maybe I'll save it up and marathon it again).

Is it just me or did anybody else sense the producers majorly trying to get the audience to ship Yu and Mikaela? I get that it can increase sales, but it appeared to have all the subtlety and nuance of being repeatedly hit round the face with a sledgehammer.

Shokugeki no Soma e.4 - Use of camera angles in this episode was borderline aggressive.

edit: e.5 - maybe I should have reserved my comment to encompass the conclusion at the start of this episode, too. ^^;

Zegapain - Episodes 7 - 12 (Blu-ray)

While Zegapain is a blatant rip-off of The Matrix and the character design and animation is rather weak, I am really quite enjoying it. I like the spins on the story and how the characters have been developed so far, I just hope that the show doesn't suddenly run out of ideas.

D-Frag 1-9

Another comedy about an after school club that doesn't do much in the way of after school activities, but the sheer level of insanity on display make this closer to Baka & Test and School Rumble than, say, Haganai. "Delinquent" main character Kenji is the straight man amongst a cast of fruitcakes; but unlike Kyon from Haruhi's resigned indifference and snarky inner monogloue, Kenji can't contain his exasperation as he tries to figure out why he's the only one who isn't completely loopy. And it's hilarious.

That's not to say that the show doesn't have other attractions. Takao has two very prominent "attractions" and Roka, who spends most of her time in chibi mode, is adorable even when the darkness emerges. Perhaps even more so.

Need manga.

DanMachi - Ep 13 (Complete) - As someone on Twitter pointed out, this show was way better than expected. I didn't see the Bell being Zeus grandson twist coming at all either but it all made sense knowing Zeus..personality and his Grandfathers antics in flashbacks
Food Wars - Ep 13 - Holy Food Orgasms The parody scene at the start was fantastic
Yamada-Kun & The Seven Witches - Ep 12 (Complete) - Onto the Manga for me. Fitting what I believe was 90 chapters into 12 episodes was a bad idea, it wasn't too bad to begin with but the pacing issues caught up with the show in the end, very rushed and little character development ..this could of been a fantastic show if they did a two cour. Shame.
My love story Ep 12 - Hnngg. This show is bad for your health.
