Re. Toradora

i think I'd have had Minori or Ami over Taiga any day of the week. Don't get me wrong, Taiga is great too, but I always prefer the childhood friend or out and out Tsundere, and they always get screwed over in shows like this. I get that Taiga is supposed to be the most natural fit - but imo she's also the most unrealistic of the girls, whereas Minori and Ami both feel more grounded in reality.

Again, posting with a strong reaction to something I had certain expactations of:

Ghost In The Shell: Arise, episode 1 one. Sad to report it's an ENORMOUS pile of crap.

I don't know what aggravates me more - the randomly inserted action sequences, or the ATROCIOUS writing. When the mystery your first episode is built around is revealed, not through plot progression, but by characters showing up out of nowhere and parcelling out exposition in big, unwieldy chunks, it's a sign that you need new writers.

Absolutely awful. Unless episode 2 is a considerable improvement over this, I won't be bothering with this incarnation of the franchise any further. There aren't many things that inspire the kind of bitter disappointment in me that this did. :(

Toradora! (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 19-25 (Complete)
Toradora! Bento Box (Bentou no Gokui) (Japanese Dub) - OVA (Complete)
Toradora! SOS! Hurray for Foodies (Japanese Dub) - ONA Episodes 03-04 (Complete)

Kitamura is added to my list of 'entertaining' anime characters.

I'll be honest, I'm quite torn with how the conclusion turned out (I preferred Minori over Taiga, yes I know many will disagree but that's my opinion. But I don't hate her and I do admit the ending was rather nice but watching Minori cry in the end really saddens me). I swear I've seen this kind of situation before (they get together but one of them leaves the school) but nevertheless Toradora! is a great show and I just have a random reaction to watching half the show today in a meh-mood that's all. Also, Episode 23 felt like I was playing a Visual Novel; near the end Ryuji had to make a choice on whether he should run to Taiga and that part made me think there could be a 'What if?' scenario.

As for the OVA, frickin hilarious. Now on my list of 'Favourite OVA episodes'.

Now then, that's one anime backlog done. More to go.

I'm with you there. I was rooting for Minori from start to end. My heart hurt by the end of the show (didn't help that my bf, who's a massive Taiga fan kept smirking at me while I sat there, tears running down my face cause of all the bloody emotion, arghh) I should rate the show at least 9/10 for how much it pulled me in but I cannot forgive them for the Minori heartbreak :p

At least we have this!

I been really liking the new seasons stuff so far.

Yesterday and this morning I've seen these so far:

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2 01
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka 01
Re-Kan! 01
Vampire Holmes 01
Shokugeki no Souma 01
Gunslinger Stratos 01
Owari no Seraph 01
Denpa Kyoushi 01
Plastic Memories 01

Really the only one I think that I'll end up dropping so far of those will be Vampire Holmes, which to be honest I was in two minds about checking out anyway.

I could say the same about it too, it looks like is this seasons RPG / fantasy series.

Nothing I've seen so far have had be itching for episode 2. Its a good bunch, but nothing special.

Seraph of the End Episode 1

I enjoyed it, extremely faithful to the manga too. I've only just read it in the past week. The animation is gorgeous, the scenery and buildings look hand painted (if that make sense).
I still hate the prophecy line as soon as he escapes, it feels way too forced and doesn't even need to be stated.

Patema Inverted (Japanese Dub) - Film (Complete)

Rather long delay since I owned the film for a long while now. Really enjoyed it especially with the interesting turn on the plot. A few minor issues but that doesn't ruin the experience overall.

Owari no Seraph - Episode 1

That first episode gave off Attack on Titan and Blue Exorcist vibes. I guess I'll give it a few episodes and see where it goes.

As far as I can see Viewster haven't put Seraph up yet? Or are people watching it elsewhere?

Everyone is watching it elsewhere. My guess is that Funimation has a timed exclusive with their simulcast which may explain why everything is late these days. So my guess is that the first episodes for Heroic Arslan and Seraph will be available this weekend (11th/12th), unless I'm mistaken.

Either that or no-one is working at Viewster over the Bank Holiday so the eps just haven't been uploaded yet... ha?

So far this season I have watched:
Danmachi ep 1-Good, RPG, fun. Better mechanics than SAO but not being set in a video game.
Seraph ep 1-good I suppose. Could have done without the tragic backstory ep being the first one but oh well it is what it is. Vs Vam was cool too.
Arslan ep 1- Really good, nic medieval/ancient ethics. Only porblem was the CGI
Fate ep 13- as a huge nasuverse fanboy this is obviously subject to bias but reall really good
Nagato- haruhi without everything that made haruhi good.

Viewster tweeted this yesterday:

To everyone who’ve been asking about live dates for the new simulcasts, we will have news for you guys early next week! Stay tuned

So we'll get news this week of when they will stream. Hopefully they play catch up, but the Easter weekend probably messed things around.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya s2 ep 2-7 (rewatch). I marathoned the first six episodes of Endless Eight today, more tomorrow. As soon as my rewatch of Haruhi is done I'll start looking at the new season stuff.

I want to re-watch haruhi but I am a good boy now and I will only re-watch once I have purchased.
