With 2007 drawing to a close which films of this year do you think have either stood out, been amazing, life changing or just plain good and worth recommending. Also what about the films that failed to live up to the hype or were just simply terrible.
Best and worst films of 2007.

Arghhhh so many Films........

BEST - Transformers - all the anticipation and waiting was well worth it

BEST ANIME FILM - Bleach Memories of Nobody (Paprike 2nd place)

WORST - Saw 3..... I was forced to watch it.

Best - Transformers [followed closely by Live Free Die Hard]

Worst - P.O.D - Actually thought it was OK But It Was The Worst Of A Good Batch of Movies I Saw

Best: Transformers (Better the i dared hope)

Worst: Simpsons (out of what i saw this year, if i went to the cinema more often there would porbably be another film here)

Die Hard 4 is probably the worst movie I saw at the cinema this year. A huge let down. I don't know why it's rated so highly on these review sites.

Oh yeah, I forgot Grindhouse. That sucked too.

I'd probably put the newest Saw installment in as well if I had seen it as I hate those movies with a passion. It's worrying to imagine anyone actually enjoying that filth.

Each to their own I guess.
Not if we're talking about the Saw films. Seriously, how can people actually sit through an hour and a half of muder porn and come out afterwards saying it was good? Really it baffles me.

How can you all slate Die Hard 4.0 is rocked it has to be in my top 5 movies of the year.

Although I agree with the low ranking of the Simpsons, probably wouldn't make it into the top 10 of films of 2007

Well the SAW films go without saying like. Don't know what people see in that pile of crap. I just can't get my head round why we're up to Saw 4?! Are people still watching these films?

I hate them all but had to sit through it as my sister put it on and she is a huge gore fan, has all the dvd's and horror series out, I don't know how she can watch them

Well I don't mind gore to a certain extent I just hate these movies. Aliens has gore but I love that movie. Saw tries to be seriouse but just ends up being pritty stupid and even a lil sad (not in the boohoo sense).

yeah it goes to the torture side of gore (much like hostel) which to me isn't really horror as its so far fetched it just doesn't scare me, infact I usually sit there trying to work out how the traps work and just not believing it.

Films that work on a psychological level are the best kind of horrors, just look at old shows like Doctor Who, no blood, guts, torture but the Dalecks and Cybermen still gave you nightmares and made you hide behind the sofa.

Don't think I could have said it better to tell you the truth. It's what you don't understand or can't see that the scarriest things mosty in Horror movies. Like the original Psycho where you don't see the knife ctually get stabbed in the shower scan. Just good directing.

If you want to see a sick horrror film (quickly of subject) you should watch "EATER-X". It's an Australian movie and quite a good one at that. Not saying you'd love it but it's original and worth a watch. Very Chainsaw Massacre 'esc.

They're making a Saw V and VI as well.

Well several reasons actually. It was stupidly over the top and just too unnecessarily unrealistic at too many points. Sure the other movies aren't the apex of realism but cmon, when Maggie Q got hit by the car at 30 or 40 mph, got rammed through a few walls, then smashed onto the back of the elevator and still didn't die I was cringing like hell.

Also the entire truck scene with the the jet fighter blowing up the roads around it was just too much and the icing on the cake was that Mcclaine took on the plane in hand to hand combat! I couldn't believe it. It was at the point where it wasn't a badass action movie but just laughably ridiculous. I wasn't a fan of the choice of villain either.

It wasn't a Die Hard movie, more like they stole a script for the Terminator and tweaked it around a bit.

Aslo to a much lesser extent of my annoyance towards the film: Die Hard 4.0? Yeah, that might have been cool name for it in the mid 90's.
