Tuesday
Honey Lemon Soda eps 11 & 12 (complete)
Relay and announcement.
Shy middle schooler goes to bog standard school instead of high flying all girls school because she met a boy once! Determined to be better she very very very very (she's still puts herself down in the final episode 😢) slowly comes out of her shell and finds friends and (some) confidence. She's the type of character I normally don't like constantly putting herself down, etc, but the boy she met has some interesting tactics to get her to better herself and the other characters are there to back her up too. Lots of moving moments and some humourous ones too.
I'm still processing ep 11 (I was when I wrote this the other day), it was mostly completely different to the rest of the show with lots of arty sequences, different art style and more comedy, it was both jarring and a very good episode so mixed feelings on it. Otherwise the art was very nice and animation good.
8/10

Mono
eps 11 & 12 (complete)
Shaved ice and POV.
This started off like a traditional CGDCT show, but ended up being a bit of a side story of Yuru Camp, I swear they visited some of the same places. Still had it's moments, but nowhere near Yuru Camp levels especially as it's a 4-koma and unlike say K-On and Bocchi they didn't smooth over the breaks so most episodes were 2 stories stitched together.
Very similar to YC despite being a different studio. I will say that Crunchyroll changing their sub style didn't help as there's a lot of notes and little written gags like YC, but with multiple characters talking at the same time the notes had to wait or just wasn't translated!
7/10

All of Wedding Peach, almost everybody says the show is just a Sailor Moon knockoff and they're not entirely wrong but the show has enough originality to stand on its own and the ova episodes are racier than the main series. Not a bad watch at all if you want something light and fluffy to watch. 7 1/2 out of 10.

Dr. STONE: Science Future Episode 36 Confront.

Haibara's Teenage New Game+ Episode 12 Confessions. (Complete. A rom-com that had the potential to be better only to get dragged into by needless character conflicts.) 2/5

Killed Again, Mr. Detective
Episode 12 An explosive finale. (Complete. For a Mystery series as a whole, while the cases where intriguing however it leaves too many questions unanswered.) 2.5/5

Angel's Egg

I really like this film and it was great to be able to see it again at the cinema. The Jonathan Clements introduction was an unexpected bonus too, he brought some fantastic insight to the film.

Super Heavyweight God Gravion Zwei - Episodes 1 - 3

My recollection of Zwei was that it wasn't as good as the first series and these episodes are confirming that opinion so far.

Fist of the North Star (2026) - Episode 12

Snowball Earth - Episode 12

Noticed that my local Vue was showing

Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway

this morning at 9am. 😱

It was like a private screening. I know it was early but I thought there would be somebody else there.

Alarm set on my day off.

Good fun it was. No spoilers.
Chihaya Hagiwara shoots up my rankings for Tough Independent Women, from nowhere.
She's in the mix with
Aika Sumeragi
Yumi Toma (Nagica Blitz Tactics)
Ryoko Yakushiji (Ryoko's Case Files)

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 (English Dub) Episode 80

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode 83 Corrupted.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 Episode 24 Present. (Complete. An enjoyable continuation that was more of the same as the first whilst further developing the relationship between the central pair.) 3.5/5

That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime Season 4 episode 83 Name.

Momokyun Sword episodes 7-12 (Complete. An at-best average watch, with a lacklustre finale to boot.) 2.5/5

Nasu: Summer in Andalusia (Film)
A fun viewing though I wish it was longer. 3/5

Negima!
episodes 1-12

Detective Conan Fallen Angel of the Highway - had a lot of fun with this one as somebody who hasn’t touched the series in a decade. They just decided these movies should have nothing to do with the main cast and focus on side characters. Which means this is still very approachable. Maybe it goes on too long but also insanely cool thing towards the end so we'll forgive that. Chihaya Hagiwara is very cool. It's always great when an anime character has relatively normal job but also an epitaph about how they are the best at it.

Angel’s Egg - It’s funny to watch this if you know Oshii as someone who likes to explain and over explain the subtext of his work in the work itself. Because this is so incredibly restrained and open to interpretation... while also telling you exactly what is happening from the start. A bad idea to watch this after work and being very tired but the razor, sharp and cruel sound design is enough to shake you out of any stupor. I'll watch this again sometime because
The Jonathan Clements introduction was an unexpected bonus too, he brought some fantastic insight to the film.
It was very insightful and understanding the landscape of animated films in Japan at the time and Oshii's career. You can see why Hayao Miyazaki didn't like it. And I know if I was at that theatre I would've absolutely gone and seen Vampire Hunter D instead! I wish it didn't include a part where Mr Clements threatens to spoil the entire movie that's never been released here. Telling you to cover your ears in a theatre so loud that you can still hear what he's saying anyway. Then kept talking about those spoiler details for the next few minutes. But that's what happens with re-release of classic films I suppose.

Angel's Egg is the best advertisement for Lupin Part 6 I've ever seen.
