Love Live Episodes 1 - 26 (both seasons).

Latest title from my pile, lots of cute girls (in a world which seemed to be 99% female) and singing/dancing. Got the movie lined up ready to watch at home next.

Kingdoms of Ruin episodes 1 - 12

Latest title on my CR app, a so so title, bit of fighting but the ending doesn't really answer any questions

Call of the Night (Japanese) - Episode 8 - 13 (Complete)

This has definitely been one of my best blind-buys recently, I absolutely adored this series. Outside of knowing it features a vampire and that it is from the creator of Dagashi Kashi (a series I was mixed on), I didn't know what to expect going in but I was very surprised to find that it was quite the wholesome show in its own unique way.

Though there is an over-arching plot throughout, a lot of the episodes were quite episodic with the fact that each one focuses on a new character of the week, focusing on what is happening in their lives and how the protagonist helps them with their troubles, intentionally or not. It reminded me of Bartender in that way which was unexpected but welcomed as I enjoyed the format of that series.

I really do want to start the second season but I think I'll wait out for AL to eventually license and release it (I'm pretty sure they haven't announced they've licensed it yet but I wouldn't see why the wouldn't).

Babylon Episodes 1-3

Chained Solider Episodes 2-6

Diebuster (2003) and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) - Both early-00s sequels, that also function better when not expected to be sequels, to beloved science-fiction properties with a surprising amount of focus on animating a dog. Innocence was a rewatch and I really enjoyed it a lot more the second time through.

Aldnoah Zero Episodes 1-3 - I kind of like this one? The music is nice and I like how apocalyptic the action feels. It's weirdly unemotional though. In a way that's hard to describe and makes it weird to think about but maybe it works out in the end???

Classroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First Semester episode 6 Saving up.

Dorohedoro Season 2 episode 5 Inside and out.

Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World - Season 4 episode 68 Through the storm.

Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon Season 3 episode 3 Info.

Himawari!! episodes 22-26 (Complete. I found both seasons of this martial arts action comedy to be fun enough excursions.) 3/5, 3/5

House of Five Leaves
episodes 1-5

The Ancient Magus Bride S1
Disc 1, episodes 1-6.

A bit slow sometimes but I like it so far.
Episode 3 was the best. 😭
The Faerie Queen didn't need to be wobbling.

Oh and Molly, the King of Cats might be the prettiest cat I've ever seen. Lovely voice.

Call of the Night S2 ep7-8

The show has made no secret of Mejiro growing up to be the vampire killer, but seeing them fill in the details still felt surprisingly powerful. I do miss the easygoing quality of the early part of s1, but this second season has been very strong so far.

Dorohedoro S2 ep1-2 (English dub)

Good grief, they did not skimp on the gore. Off to a strong start though, it certainly shows no sign of running out of steam.

Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Part 3 episode 27 Inner universe.

House of Five Leaves episodes 6-12 (Complete. I thought this was a very good watch indeed, and am glad I came across it as a recommended title.) 4/5

Hula Fulla Dance (Film)
A fun idea for a film though in pacing and execution didn’t always hit the mark for me, especially some of the CGI with the dance sequences. 3/5

Urusei Yatsura - Episodes 14 - 20

Snowball Earth - Episodes 1 & 2

This looked interesting to me, although 2 episodes in I'm a bit indifferent to it at the moment.

City Hunter: Angel Dust

An entertaining action romp , it's more City Hunter so what's not to like, I didn't feel it did anything that new but did like the glimpse into Ryo's past.

Tamako Love Story

This was perfectly fine, I enjoyed it, I'm a bit of a sucker for films like this. The ending was a bit weak though.

Tales Trilogy - Episodes 1 - 3 [Final]

I've read lots about the notoriety of this 90's adult OVA over the years but had never actually watched it, I noticed recently that memes using a of a part of it seemed to have popped up all over the place and then died away just as quickly which got me intrigued so decided to give it a watch...

...well, certainly lives up to it's notoriety with lots of very problematic content, fits in that creepy niche of releases like Dokushin Apartment Dokudamiso and OOParts Oman !

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)

Aldnoah Zero

I really like Innocence and think it gets a lot of unfair criticism from people watching it without an open mind.

I think Aldnoah Zero is a decent mecha series too.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
- Movie (Complete)

This was a great time, enjoyed every second of it and I think I may enjoy this more than the first movie though that could be recency bias talking. There was a lot of fan-service for Mario and Nintendo fans, right down to the small details in the background such as recognising random planets from the Galaxy games for example.

This was a nice, fun, feel good movie though, not something to take to seriously and has a lot of Mario charm to it, I'm looking forward to re-watching it in the future.

Akira (Japanese audio) - Film

A re-watch! A rarity on my part (though something that I want to look into more especially with anime that I watched very early on).

For those curious, this 4K restoration is the exact same one that was shown by Manga Entertainment & Funimation so there's nothing new here, but another chance to watch it in IMAX at least. The restoration was not perfect, there's a lot of blurriness to characters at a distance and there's a level of detail clearly missing to specific parts especially with the esper girl but overall it looks great still. This is the first time that I watched the film in Japanese, as I previously saw the film via the more common English dub. It has also been a long time since I've seen the film in its entirety.

The film has a whole holds up really well. Music and animation are still top-notch so no complaints there, and the main story in general is still really good from start to finish. The story is actually more complex as I could remember but I was able to understand a good majority of what was going on, but I have gripes with some of the side elements namely Kei's role in the final third and the esper kids ending their sentence mid-way as if they were about to reveal stuff and decided not to (clearly a read the manga ending trope). Also one of the esper kids running away at first and then immediately proceeding to help the other esper kids in the next scene is quite jarring come to think of it.

It's pretty incredible that for a 80s anime film that its pretty damn detailed on the violence and gore which modern anime can't watch the same way these days. Not a perfect 10/10 rating for me personally (more so a 9/10) but still an anime classic overall.

Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke episode 3 Extravagant.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm episode 3 Homes.

Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 4 episode 3 Busy.

Humanoid Monster BEM episodes 19-26, Humanoid Monster BEM Part II Specials 1-2 (Complete. A retro horror-themed anime that was resurrected courtesy of Discotek Media’s recent BD release, this was pretty fun, and I’m curious to see how the 2006 version will compare.) 3/5, 3/5

Humanoid Monster BEM (2006)
episodes 1-8

Jack of All Trades
Finished.
Roll Over and Die
Finished.
Both shows started decently but I got bored.
None of the characters appealed to me.
Fortunately, I was far enough in to finish. Can't say either had my full attention by the end.

Noble Reincarnation Born Blessed
Finished.
I love this type of MC so I always wanted to watch the next episode.
They probably went a bit overboard with the "That's why you're the Wise Prince" stuff. A lot of daft folk in this world.
