I'm due for a rewatch of all of Violet Evergarden, for me the VE movie is one of if not the most emotionally impacting movies I've seen but I'll only watch it dubbed. The japanese audio doesn't convey the gravitas that it requires and deserves.

I haven't seen Galaxy Express 999 but I still found the reference funny and enjoyed the MCs singing the theme song
 
Grand Blue Season 2 episode 12 Lessons learnt. (Complete. After some time it was nice to get another season for this, and it didn’t disappoint - looking forward to season 3.) 4/5

The Colors Within (film)
A kooky girl with a type of synesthesia accidentally forms a band with two other teens with their own troubles.
The plot was pretty nonexistent, very SoL. Band practice, some low key hijinks, a bit of low key drama and a performance where they are suddenly amazingly professional despite, two of them at least, being amateurs just months before! (always a bugbear even if the songs themselves are very good) At least lyrically each song fit each character that wrote it. I watched in Japanese because sometimes songs aren't translated and it's jarring to hear Japanese coming out of the mouths of people who were speaking English a moment ago, but I checked afterwards and the lyrics were re-recorded in English for the dub.
Being a Naoko Yamada film it's very pretty (with lots of feet shots 😜) with nice animation.

A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 episode 12 One step at a time. (Complete. I’d say this was better than the first season though the story and characters still amount to a rather middling experience.) 3/5

Mr. Osomatsu 4th Season episode 12 Overseas.

Turkey! Time to Strike episode 12 Moving on. (Complete. Honestly despite an interesting premise this turned out to be one of the more disappointing anime from this season for me.) 2.5/5

Romeo’s Blue Skies episodes 21-33 (Complete. This was a strong offering courtesy of the new AnimEigo release and one of the last World Masterpiece Theatre anime we’ve had to date, and a very good series to boot.) 4/5
 
Sky Girls-it started as a fan service laden 30 minute ova and then turned into a 26 episode series. My biggest problem was locating decent quality raws and subtitles so I could watch it which I finally did with a great deal of difficulty. It was worth it as I found it was a very interesting series. It's kind of a precursor for Strike Witches because the same person created both shows.

Now you need to watch Vividred Operation to complete the trilogy of flying girls fight weird aliens. It's one of my favourite lets save the world with the power of love and friendship anime.

You could then go a bit sideways and watch Stratos 4.

thought "this sounds like my sort of thing", looked it up on MAL and I'd already watched it ... that has happened more than once recently, maybe I've watched too much anime over the years haha

Reminds me a bit of Harem in the Labyrinth of a Another World in that the plot is basically go in dungeon then go home then back to dungeon. That show had non stop sex though.
 
Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube episode 13 Takedown. (Complete. Having enjoyed the original production I thought this was in line with that in terms of enjoyment for the most part, so confirmation of a part 2 airing the following season is welcome news indeed.) 3.5/5

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 episode 62 Remain humble. (Complete. Though season felt a bit rushed I will tune in for season 5 in hope that it will be an improvement.) 3/5

Roujin Z (Film) A very solid drama sci-fi that is worth a viewing. 3.5/5
