Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle (Japanese) - Movie (Complete)

Though it wasn't my favourite part of the series thus far this was still a really great time and I enjoyed it a lot, especially the backstory of a character during the final act of the movie. I will say though this did feel like a bunch of episodes stitched together as opposed to a movie. I can see this being re-released in a TV format like Mugen Train was except that felt like a movie compared to this. I'm anticipating the next two movies though regardless, looking forward to them a lot.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle (dub) at the cinema
Cool fights, fairly interesting (if over long for the last one) backstories, great soundtrack and, as usual, awesome art and animation. The problem was it was so formulaic: start fight, back story, and end fight with zero plot as such because we're in the end game and there's not much plot to go. Definitely felt like it'll be cut up into episodes later. Also they killed my favourite character 😭

Sakamoto Days Part 2 episode 22 Investigate. (Complete. Overall this season - both parts that is - has been a decent viewing experience, enough to entice me to the eventual second season, though I wouldn’t say it was a seasonal highlight.) 3.5/5

Ideally should have happened sooner, but I have now finally reached 1000 entries on MyAnimeList. Now despite the number, I don't consider this as watching 1000 anime titles because the entries also include one off episodes (OVA/Specials) and mini-special episodes that are of shorter length. So if we take that into account and exclude them, the more accurate number would be at 858.

Still there's a lot of anime in the backlog to go through. I also decided to catch up with Demon Slayer (originally was going to save the arc for Blu-ray) in prep for Infinity Castle Part 1 theatrical screening in the local area (props to Sony & Crunchyroll for making it more accessible than Anime Ltd's screenings would be where I live).
 
The Most Notorious "Talker" Runs the World's Greatest Clan Eps. 5-12 (finish). Wow, this series turned out to be quite dark and nasty. I Like!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1 (Japanese audio) - IMAX Film

I didn't watch Mugen Train in its film form so I went in seeing how this would turn out on the big screen. I kind of wish the ending portion of the Training arc was included at the start of this film to make it feel more epic but the start was still fun regardless.

The biggest problem I have with this film is that the backstories for most of the scenes were ruining the pacing and are weirdly slotted in for the sake of including backstory or character development. I get why it's there but it doesn't work for the film format. Honestly they should have cut them out and saved it for the TV version that they will obviously do later.

The fights themselves were great and the stopping point I am happy with. The music is good though I do miss the chanting vocals from the first series which you get some of here but I noticed with my IMAX screening that the soundtrack at parts were so loud it was honestly hurting my ears which was a shame because I was at parts juggling between protecting my ears from going deaf and wanting to listen to the soundtrack during the fights. While I think the IMAX viewing experience was solid, a word of warning in case it happens in your local screening.

No teasers for Part 2 sadly but I'll check them out when they appear. My screening also featured trailers for Scarlet and a double trailer type for Chainsaw Man: Reze arc since it had a mini reminder for the TV series as well as the Movie trailer.
