UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie Season 4 Episodes 1 & 2

Sands of Destruction Episode 1

Bamboo Blade episodes 14 - 16

Okami-san and her Seven Companions Episodes 1 - 4

Beelzebub 57-60
Shame to see this series end; I was really enjoying it. However, I can't help but feel that the last few episodes were extremely rushed. So I take it the show was cancelled, rather than ending now being a planned decision?

I hope what MangaUK said about MVM or Kazé picking it up is true though.

Another ep. 12

Wow. I really enjoyed this anime. The identity ghoul was a real surprise at first but the clues had always been there. A really interesting, spooky, and melancholy. I liked how it became so action-packed at the end.

Kill me Baby - ep. 12

This one supplied a few laughs although I was hoping the series would end with episode 12.

Is anyone one else going to the GitS/Akira double bill tomorrow night?

I've been thinking about it, but I went to see Steamboy yesterday and I've seen both films too many times (though not on the big screen). Good event though, hope it does well.

Daily Lives Of High School Boy's episodes 9 - 12 (Complete)

Easily my best of the season and another unexpected hit, loved most of the comedy sketches which included many references and paradoies and it never took itself seriously (when it did, it always ended with a joke).

I did prefer this to my favourite comedy last year which was Mariaholic Alive, it was one of those series I couldn't wait to watch on Tuesdays.

This might be one of my favourite High School SOL comedies in a while and I want to try and import a copy when it comes out in the USA (unless KAZE license it in the future.)

Ano Natsu episodes 1 - 12 (Complete) - This had promise, only because of the director and not because of J.C.Staff, the studio has been very poor in recent seasons and even at the first episode, it brought the typical high school setting with the cliched J.C.Staff fan-service we all have come to know from them. Thankfully it got much better.

Tatsuyuki is well known for his great romantic comedy/drama anime and this is no exception, the characters are likeable and the romantic relationships are well paced unlike most and I really enjoyed it's 12 episode run.

Apart from the Sci-Fi part of Ano Natsu being tacked on and some minor cringe worthy scenes, I would say:

Toradora > Ano Natsu > Ano Hana

Its a series that I really liked and if you like this kind of thing, then check it out. Of course, I haven't said that to a J.C.Staff project for a while

Shall I go back to complaining about them....

A Familiar To Zero F episodes 1 - 12 (Complete)

...here we go, for the record, I don't hate A Familiar To Zero, it was actually one of the first series I watched of it's genre and I really enjoyed watching all three previous seasons.

But now that I have watched a whole bunch of anime since then, I can see some of the flaws in a series like this and it's only because of Saito and Lousie's relationship that I really like the seires and with this being the final season, this could be a brillant closure, right?

While this is true, A Familiar To Zero F is a failure, not because of it's ending but the lead up to it.

The two major arcs of the series are reduced to three episodes at the start and three episodes at the end, both feel rushed and unsatisfying. The middle of the series focus more on Saitos "Harem" and pointless ways to try and ruin Saito and Lousie's romantic relationship(which is genuine).

It's just a big, fat bag of disappointment and further proves my point that J.C.Staff is one of the most annoying anime studios for the past few years. I just can't help myself from talking about how they continue to disappoint me.

Wrong thread

It's already the end of disc 1 of gt and I feel I want to shot my self. But I do like the super17 saga. Anyways I have to finish this series before I move on to other series...............it's going to be a long series lol

Watched the first episode of this season's Space Bros. today; it's off to a very promising start. Thus far, the drama hasn't been as dramatic as I'd expected, but it's much funnier than I'd thought it might be. Comparisons with PlanetES are inevitable, but it looks like this is very much on its own path. Try it. It will make you feel so moon.

First chance i've had in a good while to just sit down and watch stuff, so i did. So far i've watched;

Planetes 18 -21 - I've been attempting to watch the final two discs of Planetes for ooo, 2-3 months now to no real avail, so finally getting to dig into them is fantastic. It didn't take me long to catch on to what had been going on and what was to happen either thankfully, and it's charm is still there. I like the direction it's taken towards the tail end of the series too, some of the things to happen felt a little obvious the further i went into it, but it never detracted from it.

The thing is, unlike other series where you think it's going to go out with this big bang of epic proportions, i never expect that with Planetes, and i prefer that. It's not trying to go over the top, it's not trying to do anything too farfetched. In fact, for a series which focuses a lot on space, it has a lot of down to earth issues thrown into it which make sense and are fairly believeable as well, if the situations in it where to happen ever. The characters are love-able, the story is nice and it never feels like it's going to fast or slow, and that's kind of why i love it.

Space Brothers 1 - Funny how i start this just after watching some Planetes, i must have a spacey mood today. Regardless, it was a very nice start to the series. As Prof Irony said, planetes comparisons are inevitable, and i did get a feel of similarity here and there with it too, but it's definitely it's own series. A lot more humour in it as well, i went in thinking there would be a bit more of a serious tone throughout it, but was given a bit more comedy moments than i originally expected. Not complaining at all though, since it certainly works for the premise of it. Also, having Sanji/Kotetsus voice actor thrown in as Mutta certainly helps.

Gundam Age 21(-25) - At the time of writing this, i have only watched ep 21, but i'm going to catch up to where it's at now. I still very much enjoy this series of Gundam. Sure, it doesn't have that same feel to it as others, but it still feels like a gundam series. It still has to be said, Sunrise have been fairly adamant in getting those Gundam Seed/MSG references/vibes thrown into this as well. Heck, the Gundam Age-2 even looks like the 00-Raiser from gundam 00. It's a nice touch, but i feel it does take away any uniqueness this series could potentially have to some degree. Though, it does make up for itself considering it's based over 100 years, so yeah.

I agree about Planetes, I like how it brings in a lot of real (somewhat hypothetical) issues, like the problem with people born on the moon and cosmic radiation. Still waiting on the last disc from Love Film...

Ghost in the Shell & Akira

It was fantastic to see both of these at the cinema, and despite it's flaws Akira still blows me away, it was just as shame that GitS was the 2.0 version and the switch between the CGI and painted animation was even more jarring on a cinema screen especially during the opening scene.

Rock Lee & Pals: EP 1

Apparently this show is about ninjas or something I'm not sure, I don't think I will be watching this ninja comedy show throughout it's entire run but I might definitely check out next weeks double bill!

Bleach 366

For anyone doubting that the anime will return at some point to cover the final arc; there was a scene added into this episode that wasn't in the manga which drops a really big hint. When Ichigo and Rukia are saying goodbye at the entrance to Soul Society, Ichigo turns around and says:
"This isn't going to be the last time, so who cares how many times I say it?"

Well well..
