FMA brotherhood disc 5

haruhi suzumiya season 1 discs 3 and 4

Honey and Clover Episodes 7 - 12 Plus Episode L - "We're face-to-face with a legend... ... / Rōmaiya-senpai SPECIAL is this sort of story"

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya - Some people have said this is slightly too long - I had no problems with the length. A very good film.

Red Garden e.1 - Happened to be the thing at the top of my physical pile of DVDs (usually putting something on "the pile" is a far more abstract concept), so I thought I'd throw it in after I'd got up to date with current shows.

And... it's interesting. It was far more interesting up until the last minute or so, which suggested a bit more of a run-of-the-mill plot than the setup deserved, but there's definitely something about it. Clair obviously the best character.

Fairy Tail 1-24

Yeah, I watched them all from between 2pm on 31st December until 3:51am on 1st January xD

At first I was hesitant about the English dub; but it's definitely grown on me. R Bruce Elliot's Makarov is fantastic - especially when he's angry; probably the best angry voice I've heard in English dubbed anime. Todd's Natsu is also a perfect fit for the character. My only gripes with the dub are how Lisanna is pronounced "Lizanna" and Laxus sounds more like "Luxus" (which especially pisses me off, as that's the name I came up with for a character in my novel that I really like). If I'm honest, my favourite casting is Sol (shame he's a minor character), followed by Erza, Happy, Elfman and Lisanna.

I watched it on the blu-ray, which the box admits is a SD remaster. I'm not a technical wizz so I can't say whether it was a good remaster or not, but it looks really nice to me. I can however, clearly tell the difference between the English 5.1 audio and the Japanese 2.0 - probably the only time I've been able to. One thing I found funny though is, while the DVD artwork uses the standard array of stock promotional material artwork, all four blu-rays (from volume 1 and 2) only have Happy on the disc artwork.

Also...volume 2's artwork focusing on Gajeel is annoying merely for the fact that he hardly appears in the volume. I understand that as FUNimation will roughly be releasing 1 major arc per volume, they want the cover artwork to reflect the major arcs, but I would have preferred if they used the cover of the third Japanese DVD:

As the majority of the episodes focus on the Galuna Island arc, which obviously involves Gray. Admittedly, it isn't a total loss as that piece of artwork was used for volume 2's first DVD disc and that cover IS the reverse cover of volume 2. As Gajeel doesn't really show up until the last disc though, it might have made more sense to have the cover they used to be the reversible one though.

Hell, I found my Mum and little brother watching when I was still at the Galuna Island arc xD[/img]

Has anyone else had issues with the Redline Blu-ray on a PS3? It's the only disc I own where the controller button shortcuts for pause/play (X) and rewind/fast forward (left/right on the d-pad) don't work. Not only that, but resuming playback takes me right back to the start of the disc instead of where I stopped it. Most annoying.

As for the film... maybe I'm tired or getting old or dead inside, but beyond the technically brilliant animation I've not found much to appreciate in the first 25 minutes. I can't help but feel the overall experience would be greatly enhanced by mind-altering substances, of which I have none.

Huh. I've always used "start" to pause and resume and L2 and R2 to rewind and fast forward... I successfully paused Redline once using the start button.
