Got home with a little more time to spare than expected:

Maid-sama! ep 17 - Goddam you, Usui, you're such a git, but you're also so awesome. Actually cheering on a main couple in a show is a rarity for me, but this is definitely one of them. Was cute how Aoi was pulling Misa to him in the photo at the end, too, though. Also, Misa-imouto moe~

Asobi ni Iku yo! ep 3 - OK, I... what. I guess this show is going to have a full range of puppies. And also a large variety of breasts. As far as the "where is the story going to go" question that was left hanging after the first two eps, this is almost genius in its simplicity. How on Earth this has now been stretched over *14* Light Novels is somewhat beyond me, though. And oh yeah, "somehow" they all end up living together. I think it took a superhuman effort to manage to make that last until episode 3, tbh. I'd kick them all out apart from Aoi, though. >_>

Am so excited by Masami Obari directing the next Super Robot Wars Anime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excited to find this out myself (I don't really keep up with news much these days, so your post was the first I'd heard of it), I read a little more about the new SRW anime... and holy sheeeet am I looking forward to that now.

A fellow Masami Obari fan?????

You either love him or hate him, but I think he is a brilliant director and one of the best mecha designers ever (have you ever seen Dangaizer 3 - probably the best looking mecha anime ever), been waiting a while for new a new Obari anime so roll on SRW.

Yukikaze - Episode 3

Bakemonogatari 6-8

When this was being released last year, I think I stopped watching it around episode 6. For the life of me, I can't think why; it's very, very good.

I honestly thought the piles of red books in Kanbaru's house were going to be "Thoughts of Chairman Mao". I could not have been more wrong. It's her massive collection of BL

His designs, at least. I haven't actually seen many of the anime he's directed, unfortunately, but I agree that as a mech designer he is up there with the best.

Occult Academy ep 4 - More solid entertainment, it's like you can feel just how confident A1 has become with these original series. Kawashima falling for Uchida is working out pretty funny imo, and Maya and Uchida whizzing past JK and Smile with just "THREE METERS!" being bellowed out was hilarious. Maya is still my favorite new character of the season.

Fairy Tail ep 39 - Eh, slightly disappointed with Erza, childhood friend or not. The rest was as predictable as it could have been, so I guess we had to have this episode, but I was glad to see the back of it. Sieg actually being Jellal made the most sense compared to them "simply" being identical twins in cahoots, but it still doesn't make any more sense that the council just accpeted this story and never looked into it any harder. Maybe someone did in the past, and Jellal just had them killed.

High School Of The Dead episode 4

First part was a recap but the second part of the episode was very good.

I think the gas station was a Shaun of the Dead reference

Seitokai Yakuindomo ep 4 - I only watched this ep this morning, and I'm struggling to remember what happened, but I do remember it mildly entertained me while I was watching it. I think that's about its level.

Highschool of the Dead ep 4 - OK, I know it's obvious that this show is costing some serious coin to make, but seriously? Already? Apart from that, the showdown at the gas station is an ace scene, and a good bit of character development for Takashi. And we get another awesome character introduced next week, so momentum recovered after the recap.

Nurarihyon ep 4 - Oooooohhhh yeahhhhh. Hyakki Yakou in full flow, love it.

Cat **** One - I guess there really isn't going to be another episode for a while then, huh?

I'm up to episode 4 of Gunbuster 2.

What a twist this is — an almost literal Deus ex Machina solves the problem of Nono's apparent lack of ability. One might declare such a happening an "undeveloped development", but at least it nullifies my previous predictions for the final two episodes. I shall hopefully see them soon.

K-ON!! ep 17 - I just can't stop loving how well they blend the humor into this show via the characters, rather than having anything stand out as canned "jokes". Yui in the recording studio was too good, Ritsu's wonderfully characteristic love of dajare, Mio's animal themed lyrics. I really would stand firmly behind it as Not A "Moe Show". But Mio wearing her headphones (and wearing the hoodie in the ED) really is like an overflowing moe waterfall, as well as anything involving Yui and Ui, so I would probably lose the argument. Can't wait to hear their new song, hopefully, as I still can't stop listening to Pure Pure Heart.

I've now finished the rest of Nodame Cantabile, it was a really good series, although I do wish they'd spent a bit less time on the music occasionally.
