Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (the second Bill and Ted film) - My first time seeing this (I've seen the first one a few times before) this was eminently enjoyable, and the sequences in hell are actually pretty unsettling in places I guess? But not so much that it ruins the fun... Death was the standout character introduced in this film 🤣 I will eventually get around to watching the new Bill and Ted film at some point as well :)

I'm now watching the English dubbed version of Good Luck Girl, which is one of several anime I picked up extremely cheap a few years ago from a seller on a popular online marketplace, the others were DVD-only (there aren't Blu-rays of them in the west anyway) but this one is a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and I only paid like £4 for it. Anyway the show is really good so far (am only a few episodes in) :)

The conflict in this episode is a bit dumb, the girl is the only one left of her family, with hints she sacrificed them for her pact, and the anti demon order want to take the job her family held! Didn't seem the most impressive job, so why go so far for it? Equally her brother didn't have the ability to do the job, but she did, so why didn't she get to do it? Possibly something something female standing in society at the time! Just seems a weird thing to fight over.

I didn't want to derail the thread so I waited until I had watched something.
I'm really pleased that you took the chance on this show and have enjoyed it so much that you've finished 2 seasons already.
I loved it. One reason is that I liked all the characters including the baddies.
The Lieutenant is so gloriously insane that I almost want him to win. His meeting with the guy who did the things to people was hilarious.
Big shout out to Mamaki Noto as Inkarmat and her 20 children.

Re: Golden Kamuy, for me it's the perfect antidote to all of the copy-paste isekai shows where every character is focus tested to be as similar and inoffensive as possible. Everyone in Golden Kamuy is insanely entertaining, flawed and awful in different ways. The art is so goofy and expressive. It's telling a serious story yet often in the least serious way possible. I love it.

OMG yes to both of these points, I also really enjoyed the mixture of western and eastern cultures, and it slightly reminded me of Samurai Champloo as well (though it's mostly very different) :)

Sound! Euphonium The Movie ~Our Promise: A Brand new Day~ (Film) Though a good continuation for the series, this is another instance wherein the story has to sacrifice fleshing some characters and their screen time to allow for the two-hour theatrical runtime. I am looking forward to watching Liz and The Blue Bird when I get to it in my backlog. 3.5/5

Good Luck Girl (English dubbed) - Actually really good, wasn't sure what to expect before I started but I did think the premise sounded interesting and I was not disappointed, my only issue with the series was there's an arguable element of pro-natalist propaganda in the whole "you will definitely be happier being poor and having a large family" thing, I'm no anti-natalist I believe in respecting mothers and children and I also wanna emphasise that I liked the kids in that family, I just mean that speaking as someone who is def not suited to having kids stuff like that irks me, pregnancy and parenthood should be a choice and happiness doesn't look the same for everyone, plus being poor means no or very limited subpar healthcare in many countries which means more chance of serious childbirth complications or even death but other than that I did really enjoy watching it, it's actually got one thing in common with Golden Kamuy in that the characters are all pretty flawed and don't feel like they're just walking market tested tropes, the comedy was very occasionally a bit too savage for my taste but even the joke I'm thinking of I can see the funny side of it. Recommended! :)

Just started watching Great Teacher Onizuka (English dubbed) after getting the Discotek DVD boxset for less than £20 used on Amazon marketplace from a seller based in Europe, took a while to arrive with everything that was going on at the time (Xmas, postal strikes and so on), but it did get here (it didn't just arrive now - I just mean it took a bit longer to arrive than some things have at the time but it turned up months ago), and so far I'm loving it, am only a few episodes in though :)
 
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - Saw this at the cinema a couple of days ago, and was really impressed for the most part, far better than it has any right to be, and vastly better than the first Dreamworks Puss in Boots film, which I wasn't particularly into, I will definitely be picking this one up on Blu-ray! Perrito's character arc made me think of the story of the traveller from Fruits Basket that Momiji tells and I loved that about the film! I do find the portrayal of Jack Horner to be blatantly fatphobic though and that was the one element that marred the film for me.
