IS: Infinite Stratos 2 Episode 7-12 + World Purge-hen OVA (Complete. More of the same harem antics from the first with its expanded cast. Overall a stronger season which was more combat focused along with some reveals mixed in. The double lengh ova was also a fun watch.) 3.5/5

Maesetsu! -Opening Act-
Episode 7 Osaka sightseeing.

Talentless Nana Episode 8 Accusations.

Invincible Champion Tri-Zenon - Episodes 1 - 4

Another obscure and often overlooked looked mecha sereis, this time from 2000. It's very silly but the show has a charm about it and it does make me laugh plus it looks surprisingly good for a 2000 digipaint show.

Gatchaman (1994 OVA) - Episodes 1 - 3 [Final] (Blu-ray)

This is a very 90's remake of the original show that is respectful of and retains the key essence of the 1972 TV show. It is a very well executed update that I really enjoyed.

Dropout Idol Fruit Tart episode 7 A change of style.

Golden Kamuy 3rd Season episode 32 Get in line.

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle episode 8 Dream on.

Finished up the second season of The Crown and started season 3.

Grimoire of Zero episodes 8-12 (End)
Always refreshing to watch a traditional fantasy series in the current climate where most are isekai. Pretty solid series with well developed characters and worldbuilding.

Lupin the IIIrd: Jigen's Gravestone (rewatch, English dub)

Coming from Lupin vs. Conan, this film feels fresh and snappy, but it's somewhat weighed down by the entirely unnecessary torture fetish sequence in the middle. As Arbalest mentioned in the chat, it feels though like Jigen is a weirdly marginal figure in his own film - perhaps there were concerns about the elderly Kiyoshi Kobayashi's health at the time.

I'd also completely forgotten that this is a blue jacket outing for Lupin, further denting any alleged connections with the green jacket Woman Called Fujiko Mine.

Black Clover season 1
Really enjoyable show. Easy to watch, exciting. Hits the shonen beats you might expect but does it well and is a fun ride. Interestingly the first 4 episodes are basically a fantasy version of My Hero Academia where a powerless MC in a world where everyone has power obtains a new power, trains, takes an entrance exam and passes through an unorthodox way. Fun stuff.

I recently watched... hmmm lessee tries to remember... ah yes!

Rewatched Kanon (dubbed, I've seen it subbed before and find it enjoyable in both languages) and Princess Tutu (started subbed then tried the dub it was pretty great), watched all of Princess Knight (dubbed) and that was really fun, apart from films I have not seen any other anime from the 60s but this one was awesome (obviously I know the names of some famous anime series from that decade but I haven't actually watched any of them really let alone in their entirety), I also marathoned all of the older Powerpuff Girls (not anime but a fun ride, though some episodes have dated badly. But it was mostly great.) I've now finished Season 1 of Thunderbolt Fantasy and will definitely be watching the rest at some point. I also finished Tamako Market and Love Story a few days ago (both dubbed) and I preferred Market to Love Story but Love Story was decent too. Market took a couple of episodes to grow on me but then I got into it's charm and loved the rest. I also started rewatching:

Gasaraki which is as good as I remember (also the dub is really really good)

And started watching:

Giant Robo the Animation - The Day the Earth Stood Still (with the newer dub).
March Comes in Like a Lion (Subbed)
Transformers Beast Wars

I have still not finished Kaleido Star Season 2 XP

Akudama Drive ep 7
Graduation.

Adachi and Shimamura ep 7
New Years and future plans.

That is the Bottleneck ep 7
Unusual hobby.

Assualt Lily: BOUQUET ep 7
A strange discovery.

Wandering Witch ep 8
Hair today gone tomorrow.

Kill me Baby episodes 8 - 13

Not really the best series to binge watch as the episodes do repeat somewhat. But a good light hearted comedy

Black Clover episode 153 A lack of recognition.

Ikebukuro West Gate Park episode 8 Taking care.

Continuing through The Crown as well.

Show By Rock!! episodes 1-6

Golden Kamuy Season 3 episode 7
Hironori Tanaka's scene was brutal

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club episode 8

Laid-Back Camp [Rewatch] episode 7

The Woman Called Fujiko Mine ep2-6 (rewatch, English dub)

Didn't quite make it all the way through the show while Screen Anime had it up, but I'm glad their streaming it seems to have encouraged more folk to check it out. To my surprise, I think it might also play better in English than it does in Japanese; it's one of those shows where it just seems to fit.

Episode 3, I think remains one of my favourite takes on Fujiko as a character though - it's so completely open to the viewers' interpretation whether or not she genuinely cares about the kids she's in charge of.

Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon's Blood Spray (rewatch, English dub)

Was a bit dismissive of this the first time I saw it, but I think my mistake was expecting it to bring something new to the table; rather it boils Goemon's personality (at least the parts not explored by Woman Called Fujiko Mine) down to its very essence. It really leans into the idea of Goemon as a monosyllabic force of nature, whose character development is done almost entirely without dialogue, which feels appropriately like the classic samurai dramas Koike is no-doubt referencing here. Even Lupin and Jigen sitting on the sidelines providing commentary feels like something out of Kurosawa.

It's also really dropping hints about the Mamo connection.
