Space Adventure Cobra ep6-8 (rewatch)

Decided to start doing a disc about between Dirty Pair and Cobra. Couldn't help noticing that the old church Cobra hides out in while trying to deal with Tavege has its cross upside down... Cobra confirmed Satanist?

Chio's School Road ep 12 (complete)
That episode was quite lewd! That maths diagram was impossible. Was the tin collecting a reference to Hinamatsuri? I liked the added sound effects on the OP.
Overall a very funny series with excellent character interactions. Speaking of Hinamatsuri Andou seemed to be a less successful version of Nitta. Also some great video game references.
8/10

Harukana Recieve ep 12 (complete)
The episode was a really nice ending, although the final match being dragged over three episodes felt a bit much. It was actually quite moving with the reactions both initially and then a bit later.
Overall a very good series that was fun, slightly educational and dramatic mostly on the field of play rather than off it (unlike a certain other sports show this season).
8/10

Angels of Death ep 12 (complete, sort of)
This finally started answering the questions I had, but right at the end it stops at a cliffhanger and the last 4 episodes are going to be ONAs! Hopefully Crunchyroll will have them.
Overall you can tell it comes from a game. Here's the puzzle bits, here's the backtracking bit and the bit where you switch characters. Some of it was a bit dull, but the intrigue was still there (mainly because there haven't been any answers or many hints at answers until the last few episodes).
So having said that and as it's incomplete, although Complete on MAL as the ONAs will get a separate entry I'm giving it a 6/10

Happy Sugar Life ep 11
Asahi is fed up of being weak so takes the initiative. Will he find Satou and Shio before they can leave? No wonder Satou is a little twisted with an aunt like that and Taiyou is just about to find out how bad the aunt can be!

Grand Blue Dreaming ep 11
Lots of misunderstandings in this episode, mostly quite funny. And who in their right mind turns down that offer!

Angels of Death episode 9

Chio's School Road episode 9

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord episode 9

Love Live! The School Idol Movie

My Hero Academia Season 3 episode 22

Overlord III episode 8

A.I.C.O. Incarnation eps 7-9
A bit more action, although it's a bit samey as the enemies all look pretty similar. Also some answers and a twist at the end. Looks like there was supposed to be another revelation in the next episode, but Netflixs' episode synopsis spoiled it, luckily I had pretty much guessed what it was already.

Why do they do that!? I've noticed Amazon is especially bad for it, so I press play without even looking nowadays.

Angels of Death episode 12 (Complete-ish)

Now that we're near the end of the summer season and I've finally finished some series, I'll start focusing on my backlog in batches.

Next season I'll only be watching 10 series (9 when Angels of Death actually ends) so I'll have plenty of time for the backlog.

  • Super Dimensional Fortress Macross
  • Snow White with the Red Hair 2nd Season
  • Love Live! Sunshine!! 2nd Season
  • Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan

Cells at Work episode 12 Senpai-pupil bonding followed by chaos and calamity in this two-part finale.

Music Girls episode 12 (Complete. This had some potential, and was a good enough series until the latter third when its plot became predictable and the Uori subplot irked me. Overall some parts were quite good, others not so much. It was at least better than I ever expected it to be.) 3/5

My Hero Academia 3rd Season episode 62 Interestingly they adapted the material for the first half of this episode, thought it might have been skipped. Also TinTin finally shows up.

Persona 5 The Animation episode 25 They handled the Casino Dungeon pretty well, shame the confidants don't get more screen time but they're here and there at least.

RErideD: Derrida Who Leaps Through Time episodes 1-4 This is very interesting so far, wonder if they'll resume from episode 5 next week or we'll have to wait a few?

Aria the Scarlet Ammo episodes 1-12 (Complete. Pretty average with some decent action sequences but otherwise it acts more as a time waster that I sometimes skimmed through than a worthwhile series that I'd give repeat viewings.) 2.5/5

Bamboo Blade episodes 1-13

ISLAND (English Dub) Episode 10

My Hero Academia Season 3 (English Dub) Episode 22

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar (English Dub) Episode 9

High Score Girl (Sub) Episode 11

Music Girls (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
A bland final episode. The series itself was mediocre at best even though it had its serious moments, other than that nothing really stood out (not even the art and animation) but considering the studio I'm not really surprised. 5/10

Revue Starlight (Sub) Episode 11
Hikari's sudden dissapearance causes Karen to become depressed.

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
An average final episode. The opening scene though was a touching one with the two finally reunited and spending time together though that ending was surprising but predictable. That sudden proposal really caught me off guard. Overall the series was probably the worst "Isekai" series that I have seen to date. The only thing that I liked about it is how the series references Norse Mythology with its alias names of characters. Other than that the series itself was trash, with no real story plot or direction, plus what didn't help was that the characters where so dull and unintersting. 4/10

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Sub) Episode 11
Another good episode. I really liked the second half with Sagiri, Kogarashi and the love potion, that was pretty funny.

Music Girls ep 12 (complete)
Everything was going well, but they had to bring the drama! You can tell they saved most of the budget for the final scene, which was pretty good!
Overall plenty of good moments with some of the girls, although I don't remember the names of most of them. But the show was let down by poor production (lots of still shots) and overblown drama.
6/10

Persona 5 the Animation ep 25
Pretty good episode. I liked the flashes to the Confidants showing Joker learning what he needs to get through the dungeon. And the boss battle was pretty neat.
The TV guide website still only has one episode left. The official website has 9 volumes up, the first only had 2 eps, if the rest are 3s that adds up to 26. Someone found another 3 on a online store which could confirm my guess of OVAs to finish (6-9 eps). The title of the next episode is "I won't let it end here", which would be ironic if it did!

Cells at Work ep 12
Red Blood Cell is all flustered at getting a kouhai, until disaster strikes and the roles reverse.

Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings ep 11
The end of the school trip and a love potion mishap.

Attack on Titan [Season 3] (Japanese audio) - Episode 10 [47]

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar (Japanese audio) - Episodes 9-12 (Complete)
My Hero Academia [Season 3] (Japanese audio) - Episode 24 [62]
PERSONA5 The Animation (Japanese audio) - Episode 25

Dangaizer 3 - Episodes 1 - 4 [Final]

I've seen Dangaizer 3 lots over the years, I understand why people don't like it but I really enjoy it every time I watch it.

Attack on Titan Season 3 (English Dub) Episode 5

Magical Girl Raising Project (English Dub) Episode 9

Asobi Asobase (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
This was quite the funny final episode, the whole skit with the baby was funny. This was definitely the comedy of the season for me with its OTT reactions mixed matched with the beautiful animation courtesy of Lerche. The comedy itself was truly a class in its own with the random episode skits. As for the characters, they are very likeable and their interactions with each other was really interesting to see, especially how the friendship between the three is put to the test then grows. Overall a very funny series that was a excellent watch. 8/10

Attack on Titan Season 3 (Sub) Episode 10
Kenny Ackerman's history is revealed and the next story arc begins.

Gegege no Kitarou 2018 (Sub) Episode 25

Hanebado! (Sub) Episode 12
The final match between Nagisa and Ayano begins. Finally we get the answers to the reason as to why ayano was abandoned. Well that confirms that, Uchika is IMO officially the worst parent I've seen in anime. The way she tried to avoid elena's questions but eventually admited she was in the wrong to abandon ayano the way she did and answers with the worst answer possible then didn't seem fazed by it was really disgusting.

Miss caretaker of Sunohara-sou (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
A x-mas/new year final episode that was very calming and relaxing. This is a show I really liked but didn't expect much from, and in its own way it was quite enjoyable. Yes the series did have its good moments (fanservice included). The characters themselves are really likeable with their interactions especially the relationship between the MC and Ayaka. Overall a very calming series. 6/10

Planet With (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
This was quite the eventful final episode and Soya's mission comes to an end. I really like this series with its space/universe themed setting. The series itself had an interesting array of characters with their unique powers, it was also interesting to see how all the characters interacted with each other as the story progressed with enemies becoming allies and vice versa. Overall it was definitely worth the watch. 7/10

A.I.C.O. Incarnation eps 10-12 (complete)
I quite enjoyed that, but at the same time I'm not sure why. The story is sci-fi mumbo-jumbo and the the threat they face is very samey all the way through the journey. The, sort of, bad guy makes stupid decisions that only seems to make things worse for him and while his motivation is clear (his daughter is in a coma, we're never told why.) I'm not sure what he wanted to achieve to do that (I think he wanted A.I.C.O.s brain to save his daughter, but a. she was easily saved (and he's told this towards the end, but ignores the advice) and b. the good doctor knows how it's done so why not ask nicely, seems like they were on good terms once).
I did like the most of the characters, the art and animation was good and so was the soundtrack, and the action was pretty good as well. I did like the big twist, I worked out the other one though. On the fence between 8 and 7, but...
7/10

Asobi Asobase -workshop of fun- episode 12 (Complete. A very funny and meme worthy anime that pushes the boundaries of CGDCT by lacing it with all manners of lewd and bizarre situations. Probably one of the best anime this season.) 4/5

Attack on Titan 3rd Season episode 47 Kenny's backstory and an important asset is acquired.

Hanebado! episode 12 "I might be an awful parent" Understatement of the year right there.

Planet With episode 12 (Complete. A fascinating anime original with some cool ideas and a decent cast to go along with it. It's a strange one that's a bit hard to follow at times, but was worth watching each week as the plot unfolded and the final conflict came to a close.) 4/5

We Sell Tsukumogami episode 10 A sense of melancholia as Usagi is potentially sold to pay off a debt.

Bamboo Blade episodes 14-18 [19-26 is filler/anime only so didn't bother with it. (Complete. A fun kendo-based series with a nice quirkiness to the cast. Only thing that irked me was the cheating that took place by one team that was barely reprimanded. Should get around to reading the manga where the anime canon material leaves off.) 3.5/5

Black Butler: Book of The Atlantic (Film) (Complete. Another engaging arc for this gothic series, which suited being a film as much as BoM suited being OVAs. This has some interesting revelations, though the current manga arc has things far worse. Asides from some lacklustre CGI this was a great film and I'd love to see more of the manga adapted in the near future, but it seems that they're taking time to do so.) 4/5

Dagashi Kashi episodes 1-12 (Complete. If you want to learn about Japanese sweets whilst enjoying some silly antics from a small but likeable set of characters then this is the anime for you. I quite liked it and will come back for season 2 eventually.) 3.5/5

Encouragement of Climb episodes 1-12 (Complete. A cute short series about girls wanting to climb mountains in a CGDCT kind of way. For some reason crunchyroll is missing the second season so I'll have to find it at some point.) 3.5/5

Gabriel DropOut episodes 1-12 (Complete. More cuteness motif but this time centred around angels and devils sent to earth. The irony here is that the Angels act just as devilish as the actual ones. Now I finally know where all the Satania memes came from.) 3.5/5

Asobi Asobase episode 12 (Complete) - Possibly my AOTS. The utter contrast between the CGDCT style intro, the vulgar and chaotic nature of the show and the heavy metal ending was one of the highlights for me. Also notable was the voice acting of the main trio, especially in Hanako's case. I look forward to a second season. 9/10

Revue Starlight episode 11

My Hero Academia 3rd Season episode 24

Cells at Work episode 12

SDF Macross episode 11

We Rent Tsukumogami ep 10
How long has Seiji been putting off the debt? And I thought Oko would be more annoyed than she was.

Planet With ep 12
A good finale with everyone pitching in with the plan. I knew Soya would sacrifice himself and the scene inside the dragon was very moving. I'm less sure with convenient exit for the happy ending though.
Overall an interesting story with good action. The way the humans had to deal with the sealing devices was interesting, but happened a few too many times (although that meant finding out more about the characters of which there was probably a few too many). The flip-floping of who is on the good or bad side was also interesting, but also a little over done which lead to confusion at times.
Still a solid 8/10

Hanebado! ep 12
The final continues. It's quite an intense match so far. Uchika reveals her reasoning, which are still stupid, but maybe it's had the desired effect (ie discover a reason of her own for playing badminton, but for the last half of the show seems to have turned her in a nasty person doing it just to show her mum that she doesn't need her, but right at her seemingly lowest point the encouragement of the people around her seems to have maybe turned that into playing to be part of a team).
