Whisper Of The Heart(Sub)- Nice film.Loved Shizuku's singing.8/10

Serial Experiments Lain (Sub) 12-13 -Complete.Found it hard to understand (No matter how hard I try and think about it)and confusing-simply don't get it.Liked the artstyle ,colours and the dark tones, which I think suited the mood perfectly.7/10

Yu Yu Hakusho( Dub) 22-24

just watched ghost in the shell: innocence it seems far more concerned with creating things that look like set pieces than making anything that looks like it has substance. cue the classic GiTs circ-jerk philosophy but it somehow gets even worse near the last few scenes of the film, hard to follow when your characters are always spouting off philosophy about reality and memories and such, the first, original film had far more things that turned out to have meaning, much more philosophical debates that were relevant to the plot, innocence just decided it could get a budget this time so screw it 50% of the work is CGI.
not a bad film if you're in the mood to follow a few ideas beyond the plot but the original still seems like the best film with more of the dialogue eventually meaning something

After the Rain ep 7. The animation in this series is gorgeous, and this episode is the best so far in that regard.

ClassicaLoid s2 ep 21.

Dagashi Kashi s2 ep 7.

Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san ep 8.

Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line s4 ep 7. Just setting up for the next stint of racing action, same as it always does.

A Place Further Than the Universe ep 9
IN YOUR FACE! 😜
Another enjoyable episode. Where as last week was more comedic, this week was more feels-y with 2 of the characters having a heart to heart about past events.
After reading the debate about GATE/propaganda on another thread there was an interesting part of this episode:
The icebreaker the girls were on was ramming through the ice to get to where the Japanese research station is situated. One remarked why did they have to go through this part in particular and one of the team leaders told them the story of how the rules of Antarctic exploration was laid down just after WWII and as a defeated nation they got one of the crappiest places. One of the girls remarked it was like bullying and the lady said "I wouldn't go that far, but maybe that's what it amounted to" and then they were told about how Japan pulled together and they were able to reach the area they were given and set up base. Strength through adversity sort of stuff, mirroring the girls story, Shirases especially. What makes it especially interesting is that the sponsors (EDIT: technical advisors of the show include) Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the National Institute of Polar Research and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (EDIT: I guess to be expected of a series with a technical element)

Karakai Juozu no Takagi-san ep 8
Takagi takes another step in her masterplan.

Dagashi Kashi s2 e5
All that effort possibly wasted. Last weeks events remains a mystery.

Otogi Zoshi eps 14-17 (rewatch)
The action moves to modern Tokyo where a series of supernatural events take place to the reincarnated characters from the first arc. With the ones involving Hikaru linked to the events of the first arc. The animation seems to have taken a bit of a hit. Maybe it's more noticeable when it is set in the modern world and a lot more details need to be drawn.

Spiderman: Homecoming
Brilliant film, probably the best Spiderman film, so far. For some reason I really liked the twist of Vulture being Peters crushes dad.

Space Patrol Luluco eps 1–7
This is so daft. I love it! (Gotta love that Kill la Kill crossover episode, too!)

As a side note, the concept for the end sequence is really clever, and the ending song itself is quite ethereal, with it's breathy, whispered vocals. The credits show that the music's by Teddy Loid, so it's no wonder it put me in mind of Me!Me!Me! (and also GIRL) from Japan Animator Expo. Speaking of which...

I also took the opportunity to rewatch Yamadeloid from Japan Animator Expo while it's still available. (Ends today.) The video player still seems to be stuttering, though.

I wonder, by the way, if this short's absence from the Japanese release of Dragon Dentist could be less to do with music rights and perhaps more about the JoJo crossover it features...?

And just for good measure, since I was on Crunchyroll...

Pop Team Epic ep 1
It had to happen at some point. I made a bet with myself that this wouldn't be able to make me laugh. It did. Several times. Dammit. (Mainly at the Your Name, Totoro and Pokémon parodies.) The opening initially made me think the site had somehow loaded up the wrong video!

[In female voice this time.]

Otogi Zoshi eps 18-21 (rewatch)
This second arc is more episodic than the story driven first arc, I'm sure the various threads come together, but they're not all that interesting. Although ironically I seem to remember most of them quite well compared to not remembering many of the events in the first arc!

Boruto: Naruto next Generations episode 47

Blassreiter episodes 13-24 (Complete. This was a rather depressing series that deals with themes of discrimination and loss of faith whilst also combining it with admittedly less engaging fight scenes and characters. The second half is stronger than the first at least.

Blassreiter is an anime that effectively conveys some important themes and ideas but doesn't often have the characters nor setpieces to back it up- asides from the villain whose backstory involving the MC is sympathetic enough. I can still recommend this, but I wish it was more consistent across all its aspects.) 3.5/5

Started yesterday: Welcome to the NHK!(Sub) 1-3 today: episode 4 -Been on my watch list for a while and looks to be interesting.

Yu Yu Hakusho(Dub) 26-30- Simply Lovin it.

Violet Evergarden ep 8
Finally the backstory episode I've been wanting. This needed to be episode 2 so we had an idea of what happened to her before the events that were about to unfold. There fore we would understand what she went through and would have some empathy to carry us through the episodes where she was emotionless.

After the Rain ep 8
Seems love is in the air, but not for Akira who's in the friend-zone, but still uses it to her advantage to get Kondo-sans text/email details. Akira in that kimono 😍

Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles ep 9
She doesn't just love it, she's obsessed. In fact she climbs a mountain just for a different type. I liked this episode, maybe because it didn't have the stalker girl in it.

Yuru Camp△ ep 9
Just what I need on cold day like today, more warm and cozy anime. Loved the messaging between the girls. Also doggy temple and whoops someone over slept!
