Gabriel DropOut 1-3

Not sure how I feel about this one yet. Not to say it's bad, because it isn't, but I feel it's possibly the weakest Doga Kobo show I've watched thus far.

Bleach The Movie 2: Diamond Dust Rebellion

Oh boy, this was pretty crap even by Bleach filler standards. If you give the plot of this film just a second of thought, it all falls apart. Even if Toshiro did have beef with the antagonist, there was 0 reason he had to run off without telling the other captains what he was doing. Like, even if he went and told them who stole the McGuffin, and why and what his plans were, then ran off, it would have made more sense, but the option that makes the most sense would have been to have gather all the captains and just rush him and beat him. The film would've been over in 10 minutes. But no, Toshiro had to go and run away without telling anyone why, and being branded a traitor and generally being an idiot for an incredibly flimsy reason. Sure, there's trying to take responsibility for something you're guilty of, but then there's doing that and causing actual harm to other people by doing so. It's just stupid! This film is also one of the worst things an anime can be, and that is boring. I mentally checked out and just started browsing my phone after about the 50 minute mark, and honestly, me glancing up every now and again was enough to soak in the entire plot. Honestly, I wasn't too hot on the first film, but this was just plain crap.

Berserk 1-6
The blu ray remaster looks amazing (says that even tho it's my first viewing), just considering it's age it's really a visual feast.

Space Adventure Cobra movie
Great 80's cheese movie. Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. The music was probably the most enjoyable part for me, and while the animation looks a bit dated there is plenty of unique and fun characters to keep you entertained. I wonder if I can find the tv series...

You mention the music, but the burning question is, did you watch the old dub with the soundtrack by Yello?

Still full of cold. It's only when you have a cold you appreciate the hitherto underappreciated ability to breathe through both nostrils unimpeded.

Lucky Star-Episodes 1-5

Well, episode 1 was last night, but hey ho. Enjoyable so far. It's not really funny, so to speak, but it's incredibly enjoyable nonetheless, and the characters are a lot of fun. Tsukasa is too relatable. This is also probably the only anime to ever directly reference both the Apple Pippin and the 3DO. I quite liked the small reference to Pani Poni too. I wonder how many people would get that nowadays, given Pani Poni is a fair bit more obscure, in retrospect, at least in comparison to the fairly big following of Lucky Star.

Watching a few more episodes, I do quite like the little nods to other KyoAni series. I've spotted a couple of Bonta-kuns and although I haven't seen it, I do recognize a few Haruhi nods.

Lucky star is in my top 10 anime, maybe even top 5. It's just such easy watching, also Kagami is best girl. If you disagree, your tastes are very questionable. :p

I will agree there, it is incredibly watchable. It's seems to go over really quickly. It's a little hard for me to choose a best girl so far, but I'm leaning into either Miyuki or Tsukasa. Not too keen on Kagami, she doesn't have enough moe points :p

I did indeed watch it dubbed, it was the Australian madman DVD that I watched, I was unaware there were other dubs available.

Oh yeahhhhh

I'm not sure if it's the same as the more common dub track that has the original music (never seen that version), but it's quite a solid dub, even if it does change some of the names, and the Yello music fits the film rather well. Unfortunately, I don't think it's ever been released to DVD, allegedly due to mastering issues.
