Mobile Fighter G Gundam - Episode 1 (Blu-ray)

The raws of the Japanese G Gundam BD set are available so I synced the subs to check out the first episode, it looks great and I'm looking forward to watching one of my favourite Gundam shows in HD.

"Oh, myyyyyyy~"

Finally decided to watch the separate disc with Manga's Harlock: Space Pirate that has the English-dubbed version of the film.

What a bloody awful dub. I mean, for starters, dialogue when clearly no-one's mouth is moving?!

It's hard to believe it's by the same team who made the fantastic English dub of Appleseed Ex Machina.

Fate/kalied liner Prisma Illya 2wei!-Episodes 1-4

Hmm, they seem to be going much further down the comedic route this time around, and whilst it's actually quite funny, I do hope they don't totally forget about the action. In Season 1, the action was surprisingly awesome, so it'd be a bit disappointing if they abandoned that aspect almost entirely. Oh, and just a general question, is Shirou really that attractive of a guy? I swear every single girl in this show wants to jump his bones, including both his adoptive sister and his adoptive sister's weird twin/clone. I mean, he's a nice bloke, and he's not ugly, but wow, he gets a lot of female attention.

Sound! Euphonium S2-Episode 12

It's really a testament to the quality of this series in that it makes me feel the emotions of the characters. I had butterflies in my stomach when they were waiting for the results and also when Reina shouted her confession, not to mention almost crying along with Haruka at the end there. Very emotional and brilliant episode. I do wonder what'll happen in the last episode, seeing as all the plot threads were neatly tied up in this episode. The only thing I can really think of is a graduation episode, which almost always make me cry!

Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desu Kara S2-Episode 12 (Complete)

I was really surprised this got a sequel, and this second season has been as good as the first. I really love the general look and animation, and it has a good few laughs here and there. Really hope the studio, Pine Jam, end up making something long form, as they're definitely a talented studio.

Oh, and even though I like the series, I'm a little glad it's over as it means I won't have to type the long ass name every week :p

Yuri!!! On Ice - Episode 12 (season finale)

First of all - Crunchyroll, what the Hell do you think you are doing? This is the finale of one of the biggest anime series of the season, and you post the episode over a quarter of an hour later from when you said it would be. I know that this is a bit "first world problems", but seriously...

Anyway the episode overall. I must admit, I'm not sure what to think. I'm saddened by the fact that Yuri didn't win, and frustrated that there was seemingly nothing clear cut in terms of 100% saying Yuri and Victor are a couple, but at the same time, I'm not as disappointed as I thought I was going to be. I thought I would be furious, but I'm not. Maybe it is because of the final message, indicating that perhaps a second series might be on the way, and if so then there is still plenty of time to resolve the whole issue. I know that there are already plenty of comments about the final scene because in actual figure skating, you never see two men skate together competitively, and perhaps the thing to take away from it is the fact that Yuri!!! On Ice has highlighted all of these issues that many people had never come across before.

If there is one thing left to say it would be this: @Rui & @IncendiaryLemon in the event of a second series, try and keep any rows to a minimum.

Dragon Ball Super - episodes 1-2

Been feeling a Dragonball itch for a while now, and instead of rewatching Z i decided to try this on daisuke. Enjoyed the feel of these two and like the Japanese dub already!

Ep 12 of Yuri!!! On Ice damn that episode was perfection. Loved the ending, so beautiful. Bring on season 2.
Ep 11 of Drifters looking forward to what is certain to be a epic fight between Hijikata and Toyohisa.

Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade works Complete

Really enjoyed this series, the animation and soundtrack were fantastic. The story was better contructed than Fate Zero though servants in Fate Zero were more interesting.

A couple of issued stopped it getting full marks. Shirou basically wanted to become a hero of justice / the perfect shounen character was far too cheesy for my liking and made his character rather shallow. Rins English dub voice grated on me slightly but I did kind dig her relationship with Shirou.

It wasn't perfect but it was a great ride. 9/10

Just watched the Yuuri!!! On Ice finale

Well, I'm pretty content! I like Victor's complicatedness and the constant twists and turns as it rolled everything together in a reasonably satisfying conclusion which left most of the characters happy. While the romance plot eclipsed the skating elements as the story went on, in the final episode I found myself wholeheartedly relating to Victor as he hoped for Yuuri to pull off the beautiful performance he knew he was capable of - and I held my breath throughout most of it, desperate for him to succeed.

The whole final episode had a twinkly, delicate atmosphere throughout which perfectly matched the current season too - I went from wrapping presents to watching professional skaters pouring their hearts and souls into dancing across the ice. It now feels that my heart is at peace for the evening.

The staff have obviously tapped into a winner here, and there's plenty of room for more story without dragging anything out. Let's hope that a sequel arrives sooner rather than later.

Expelled From Paradise (Film)
Yuri!!! On Ice - Episode 12 (Complete)
Kill la Kill - Episode 01

I think I might try and write out something about the first two, but I don't have access to a proper keyboard right now, so its difficult.

My impressions of all three were positive, but I was disappointed with how 'wishy washy' YOI's final episode treated Yuri and Victor's relationship. I would have appreciated something a bit more defined and 'solid'. Contrary to everyone else, this might be the first episode that didn't have me pretending I suffer from hayfever. I kinda got the impression something closer to what I was looking for was taken out last minute to allow for a sequel. I still really loved it though.

I'm not generally an Urobuchi fan, but Expelled from Paradise is probably my favourite work of his. It seems to me to be the most inherently political of his works, even if Psycho-Pass would appear to be the more obvious candidate for that on the surface. I'd like to write more about it, but I don't think it would be wise to start a political anime discussion at 2 in the morning on a tablet who's keyboard I am not getting along with...

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memories - Episodes 1 - 6 (Blu-ray)

Needed to watch some 'proper' Gundam and the HD of 0083 is now available. I seen 0083 many times and still enjoy it the same every time.
