Again, apologies if there is a thread for this anime already – I went back several pages and didn’t see one so hopefully not cluttering up the forum with this new thread.

Have just finished watching volume 1 and half of volume 2 of this anime series and am really enjoying it. Sounds such a bizarre and weird storyline but works. The voice dub, as well as the animation, seems particularly well done. This might well be old news to a majority of you as Wolf’s Rain seems to have many fans.

The soundtrack also stood out for me, particularly the song played over the closing credits. Does anyone know if it possible to get a hold of this song anywhere – via website downloads etc? I really like the song and had it in my head ALL day!

It's an amazing series, watching it again on Anime Central, it's great to watch it again on TV, though like... they aired the recap episodes, which was sort of annoying. Also, yes as over-rated as Yoko Kanno is, the OST is amazing.

The song you want is "Gravity" by Maaya Sakamoto, I could either upload it for you or link you to a site to download it? I'll PM you the link if you want.

Yeah Wolf's Rain is really amazing. And so is the OST. I'm sure that song is somewhere but at the same time I wouldn't know where to get it. I could throw some guesses but at the same time I don't want to get in trouble for saying somthing I shouldn't :?

I'm on disk 1 atm and i'm really enjoying it.
The first episode really sold it to me, it's a premise i've not come across before, it's different, artistic and intriging.
Hope it carries on to be that way.
I didn't like the intro at first but it's grown on me.
You really can't fault Yoko Kanno :)

Hmm, I thought it was an ok series...
It's got good art and music throughout, which really gives you a feel of the world - that's probably my favourite thing about the series. The story - it starts out well, certainly has a lot of potential, but I don't think it quite lives up to it. Part of the reason for that, I think, is the pacing - for all that the end of the world is coming, they seemed to be meandering along towards their goal. I never got a feeling of urgency until around the last episode. That said, I think the pacing would've been much more forgivable had - and I suspect people may hold this against me - the characters had enough complexity to properly draw me in. Not that they had no personality (sup, Vicious?), rather that they were all somewhat... vanilla. As a parting shot, I'll also add that on a couple of occasions the story came dangerously close to melodrama, but that's something that's more subjective, I think.
So in the end I find it's good enough to watch, but I'm always struck by how much better it could've been.

Oh, also, skip the recap episodes. Seriously.

Love this series and consider it one of my favourites because of the high rewatch value. The atmosphere is perfect and the music contributes highly to that as well as standing on it's own. It has that feeling of a secluded setting similar to Haibane Renmei in a sense. The dub is also pretty solid as well. The only complaint I have is that it has four pointless recap episodes. On the US DVD's they released the recaps on a seperate DVD so you could either choose to buy them or not. In the UK however you're forced to buy these episodes because due to the different episode count on the DVD's they are intermingled.

Really fantastic series and I highly recommend it to those who haven't seen it.

I currently have the first boxset I can't wait to buy the second!

Well, buy it then.

Anyway, this series is okay it's not my favourite series i'll admit it is good though.

The reason why i think it's good is because in what other anime do you see wolves turn into humans?

Oh & the OST is awesome i must say that too.

Starts it AC repeat on Saturday so I'll watch it then. I missed the first episode on its first airing.

I don't know what to expect, except Kanno music of course.

I can only add another vote to the 'watch it!' camp. Apart from those infamous four recap eps (seriously, you lose nothing by skipping them) it's a great series. For some reason, I ended up caring about the exploits of the human characters as much as those of the wolves...that's a sign of good storytelling I guess.

I couldn't go without mentioning Kanno's musical score either - I wouldn't call it her best to date but Gravity is one of the best end themes of any series I've ever seen.

Ok have finished watching this series and loved it! :)

I laughed and cried and got attached to many of the characters, wolf and human! The filler episodes were very annoying, and the ending of the series was slightly disappointing after all that build up. Still one of the best anime series I have watched though!

Why does everyone say that about the ending? ;_;

I thought the ending broke out of the usual type of ending we were all expecting which was awesome.

I suppose it was ok the way it Resetted itself there-fore getting around the generic "the happy ending" or the "happy ending only the main character dies to make it happen". The final fight was great too.

I've just started watching this.
The first 2 episodes just gripped me really.

I gauge a anime from the first couple of episodes, although some Animes get better as the progress.

Just wondering if the people who saw it for the first time on AC thought the ending shown was final?

My friend did till i invited him to watch the OVA's tonight.
I loved it incredible moving end but implied so much more.
Great series, really gutted i've finished it now.
Need to look for a new series, Ergo Proxy or Paranoia Agent which one?
