Winter 2015 Legal Anime Streaming Thread

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - 8 Manga UK titles head to Netflix

RE: the thread title - Death Note and Vampire Knight are technically Kaze titles, although Manga was distributing them for Viz Media Europe before they rebranded.
I ended up watching Psycho Pass on Netflix already via Mediahint - there wasn't much over there actually that I hadn't already watch and was in any urgency to since I dislike having to use my PC to watch anime since being able to do it on my PS3 and Smart TV.

Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! [Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!]

Damn! That's one of the series I really wanted to see this season.

Death Note is definitely Manga not Khazi, you can tell from the comparative lack of crapness of the DVDs, besides it was released before Khazi started releasing discs here..

It might be worth pointing out that Animax have Death Note in their catalogue already, so I assume that at the very least, Kazé have the streaming rights to the series. It does seem odd though that every other title being added is a Manga UK license and not one from Kazé.

In fact, why aren't the major Shonen Jump series' available on the service? I imagine that Dragonball Z would be a major hit on Netflix, but of course, it could be down to Toei Animation being butts (after all, One Piece is only available to be simulcast in North America). Naruto and Bleach are available worldwide on Crunchyroll though, so I don't see why they would be an issue? (Bleach also being on Animax must mean that Crunchyroll don't have exclusivity, right?).

Tsukimonogatari starts today on Daisuki at 5pm UK time

About Tsukimonogatari:

The time is February, after the ordeal with Nadeko Sengoku was resolved thanks to Deishu Kaiki working behind the scenes. As Koyomi Araragi studied for that last push before the college entrance exams, a change to his physical body that "could not be overlooked" was starting to happen. The difference that could be described as retribution for all his past action is...!?

Death Note, Vampire Knight and Yu Gi Oh Season 2 appear to be live on Netflix

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Death Note & Vampire Knight [Netfli

...With Arashi being announced Funi have pretty much got hold of every title I want to watch this season (bar Aldnoah, which should end up on CR) ..all they need to announce is Koufuku Graffiti and that'd be me done..

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Death Note & Vampire Knight [Netfli

Same with me; FUNimation are grabbing all the shows I want to see other than sequels which I hope will be on Crunchyroll. This sucks. They've already confirmed that Yurikuma Arashi and Kamisama Kiss will be on Crunchyroll but not for the UK. I hate FUNimation.

Found the links for the latest batch - Black Butler is in fact both Season 1 and Season 2, and Drifters of the Dead is also included.

Attack on Titan - Season 1 [01-37], English & Japanese
Black Butler - Season 1 & 2 [Season 1: 01-25, Season 2: 01-18], English & Japanese
Blue Exorcist - Complete set [01-26], English & Japanese
High School of the Dead - Complete set [01-12] & OVA, English & Japanese
Psycho-Pass - Season 1 [01-22], English & Japanese

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Ghost in the Shell [Netflix]

Definitely interesting to see a lot of these big ticket catalogue shows appearing on there - suppose it could be part of Manga's wider strategy; shifting to streaming.

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Ghost in the Shell [Netflix]

Just had a look. The Netflix version of Ghost in the Shell is certainly not in 4:3, it is in its original 1.85:1 ratio. As for the quality of the print, it did look a little beat up to me. Not sure it's the transfer as seen on the BD, but I haven't got it to compare. Certainly watchable though.

Just had a quick check. It's 100% not the bluray version. It's the upscale from the GiTS 2.0 disc - if not another upscale from the same (laserdisc?) master.
The BD looks like this, and the 2.0 upscale/Netflix version looks like this. Questionable decision...

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Ghost in the Shell [Netflix]

Ah gotcha, in that case they've probably just put back up exactly the same version that was streaming on Netflix a couple of years ago.

Re: Winter 2015 Stream - Death Note & Vampire Knight [Netfli

Funimation have picked up Absolute Duo.

There's 1 more left but that should be Fafner Season 2 (unless they ignore it of course due to poor sales for Season 1 & film).

Crunchyroll have added Magic Kaito 1412, like Detective Conan it's region restricted to US & Canada only.

Crunchyroll have also picked up Absolute Duo for non-English speaking countries.
