Will Shuffle get licensed you think?

I imagine he's referring to the security devices that you find attached to the inside of DVD cases. If they're not deactivated they are, I guess, liable to set off alarms.

I triggered the Alarm in Forbidden Planet once because someone hadn't deactivated the security device in one of the tapes I bought. That was the only time it ever happened to me, and it's not a pleasant experience to be stopped by the security guard who then rifles through your bag to make sure that the contents match up with what's on the receipt. It's especially unpleasant when the bag contains a soft-porn anime called The Gigolo with several practically naked women on the cover (it was on sale!)

EDIT: THE HORROR

mm, I see what you mean. I would feel bad if I had that in my bag as well.... ;D

That's the problem. I don't think UP1 deactivates their DVDs.

I am very confused. Even if a DVD bought online did set off alarms, are you in the habit of carrying DVD's you received in the post in and out of high street shops? :?

I get it if I've bought something at Expo/LAC and then go shopping, or more often if my useless post office hasn't delivered something so I go collect it on the way to work. Then I'm an alarm-magnet for the rest of the day.

I normally try and remove the tags as soon as possible but that is not always possible if it is stuck on card. I never get why they sick them on the card sections of boxes sometimes as it means you are almost guaranteed to rip the surface.

The only time I got hit by an alarm was in an Asda by where I worked after searching me and my bag the woman in the store said it could have been all my piercings that set it off, as it had been known. It was not until I got back to work that I realised it must have been the CD I had taken in to lend someone that I had in my pocket at the time that had caused the alarm to go off. I had got it from play online so it looks like they don't deactivate the security either.

It's called "visiting friends".

I tend to put the discs in a binder when I do that rather than carting the cases around.

Awesome! Thanks LeeDless, I know what I'm doing tonight.

edit: Not all subbed episodes are up so I'd watch it dubbed from the beginning or you'll be watching half and half.

Oh you're right, the subbed eps only go up to 16. I didn't notice as I only watched it dubbed.
Hmm. Part of me wants to see whether the last 12 episodes are as awful as the first 12, while another part wonders why the hell I'd put myself through that.
I've noticed a lot of negativity towards Shuffle from the various reviews and forum threads I've read.
Personally I enjoyed it from start to finish; from the fluff and fanservice of the first half to the sad and serious aspects of the second.
Yes it was full of plotholes, clichés and contrivances, but hell I'm easily pleased I guess. :p

I don't mind fluff and fanservice (although in comparison to some other harem shows, Shuffle doesn't actually have all that much) but the first half is exceptionally dull. One episode centres around the girl who can't crack an egg and culminates in the main cast having a picnic on the school roof. The latter half supposedly gets all hilariously melodramatic and overwraught -- the last couple of episodes I watched seemed to be heading in that direction -- and I'm morbidly interested in seeing how it plays out. Not enough to pay for the DVDs, mind, but for free...

If shows like Please Teacher aren't considered viable,
That still has me raging. It's one of my favourites and it's the only romance anime that I consider to be as good as Chobits.

must buyy boxset :p

oh and thanks for the info on Funimation uploading Shuffle, knows where im heading next
