What's your favourite mecha?

Being a close-combat fan, I like mechas that really get into the thick of the fight - so I have a few mechas that I like:

Deathsythe - Gundam Wing (Like my bro).
Gurren Mk II - Code Geass (With/without the wings, that claw is just vicious!)
King Kitan - Gurren Laggan (It's a big yellow banana, but if you get too close, it'll poke your eye out!)

The thrones are pretty cool =3 but their pilots are all w***ers =P. Except when Ali steals it =P

A little note to fans of Full Metal Panic's mecha:

Get yourselves the Revoltechs! I bought an Arbalest off Ebay last year to use as a photo-reference for comics work. I was a little perturbed by the price, but the figure seemed very well articulated.

When it arrived... DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN! The thing is LOADED with accessories and poseable like nothing natural on Earth!

It's been a boon for my work on Transformers Mosaic and the stuff I'm working on now. Fans of the show are likely to get even more enjoyment out of it. Go check it out! There's a Laevatein model as well, which is similarly awesome.

Can we get a pic of the Gundam Virtue, anybody?

I suppose it's a ways off topic, but have you SEEN EJ Su's re-designs for the revamped (circa 2006) comic books? They're astonishing!

(I own a Megatron Revoltech as well. It's... not great.)

Thanks to Sparrowsabre for the Gundam Virtue glamour. That sits next to the Freedom and Justice as my favourite Gundam designs.

I was genuinely SHOCKED the first time I saw the whole Nadleeh thing happen in 00!

Does Prime count? He's a sentient being, not a mecha really. He's not piloted after all =P

But if we're talking mecha + robots + powered armour etc then yes Prime is right up there, though I'd say Dinobot is my favourite transformer =3
 
Having a pilot isn't really necessary. Though Starscream would be my Transformer of choice!

I believe it's traditional at this point in such threads for someone to mention Tequila Gundam and the other G Gundam designs.

(Fixed previous bloated page by changing that massive Virtue to a link :p)
