If it makes you feel better h24821807 Woolworth's had the same confusion Look at this site

I heard that the other day, the main point is, they didn't even heard of the word "lolita" (which make me feel that they are kind of lying) from what I've read from The Times. Site

If you're going to state that people are sick just because they don't stick to the generally socially accepted mean of sexual attraction, you may be setting yourself up for more trouble than you realise.
As Ryo mentioned, it was meerly an example, and I realised that it would come out sounding worse than what I meant.
Mmm, I guessed you didn't mean it like that, but I sorta figured that your statement needed that kinda reply to it in any case.

Heh. Suuure nobody knew where it came from  . Although I can understand no-one willing to admit they did, at least.

Just to clarify, based upon people's misconceptions posted here.

Lolicon does not, in any way, shape or form, imply animated child porn. It is a modifier implying a desire for or themes regarding the sexualisation of children. A person can be a lolicon person; a manga could be a lolicon manga; a (live action) film could be a lolicon film and so on. It describes a sub-genre for any particular medium or a personality trait of a person and implies nothing more.

Moe is more difficult to describe but in essence describes those feelings of warmth that a viewer may have for a character. I is also used to describe particular archetypes of character that appeal to particular people, such as "Tsundere moe" (a like for those girls with a fiery, strong streak with a softer side, such as Kaname Chidori in Full Metal Panic or Asuka in Evangelion) or moe for the quiet, shy girls, such as Evangelion's Rei or Nodoka Miyazaki (Honya-chan/Librarian girl/Bookstore girl depending on the translation) in Negima. As such moe is not a genre in and of itself but rather an element of some (or all) of the characters and at most is a sub-text to a title, such as a moe high school title like High School Girls.

One of the misconceptions people often have is that moe implies lolicon, which has no truth at all. Many, for instance, have an "older woman/sister moe" with the likes of Misato in Evangelion as a prime example of such a character. Clearly she is not a lolicon character but she most certainly is defined as moe.

Gawyn, thanks for your explaination, but I am still not sure what are you trying to say...

Are you trying to say,....... for example, in a series of a manga, that the charactors (which is a young girl) doesn't have to have sexual encounter, and the theme of that series is including sexual desire or theme (for example, conversation, jokes) of the charactors. Can count as a lolicon manga?

By sexualisation I mean that they are depicted in a sexual context for the purpose of sexual gratification. Somebody simply desiring somebody who is young does not in itself make the work a lolicon piece but rather means that the character in question has lolicon tendencies.

Of course, as with all such things, the boundary of acceptability is open to personal interpretation. For instance the scene depicting the young girl (I cannot remember her name) being forced to pose for her step-father in Elfen Lied, to me, comes very close to that boundary and may step over it. Others may not take the same view. That scene alone does not make Elfen Lied a lolicon anime, however, even if the scene itself could be classified as such. If Elfen Lied was based entirely on such themes then it could easily be classified as loli.

I hope that makes it a little clearer.

I've stated before that there is no problem with it if the person is able to differentiate between anime and reality. Quite frankly, the government will just be making it turn into a black market. Why ban something outright when you could simply put restrictions up in order to be able to keep a closer eye on things? Governments are too ban happy these days. More control; less censorship please.

I'd agree, but moe has no solid definition, and each person has an idea of what moe and what it means to them.

It isn't illegal in the United Kingdom sadly, but there are rumours about that one of the MP are considering banning this. Oh yeah... what else I was going to say. Ah yes...

Well, I've heard that they have put the consultation out already and ended in June last year......but so far since now, I've heard nothing after that.

I've got one more question, what will happen if this law will be passed? (Yes, I know, lolicon will be banned)....... Will people just "over kill" every single anime as lolicon and ban it?......What will be happened to the anime industry, the anime that we are currently watching or has been published as DVD to the UK market?

Not a lot if anything the law thats going to be passed will be vague something that the british goverment can say to parents "we care about your childs safety"then rarely used.
With anime some little girls are over 800 while some 9 year olds are fully devloped,so unless anime characters now require birth certificates it's useless.
If they do try to use the law you can simply argue that they have stunted growth.

The reason they have not banned it here yet is because their is the argument that, first off, the people involved are not real, and secondly, the girls in the images and such do not exist and therefore cannot be harmed, offended and abused.

Well, as I said, I don't watch lolicon, so I don't need to worry about that so much......The thing that I am worrying about is will people "over kill" some anime as lolicon and ban it......So do you guys think that there will be people out there and "over kill" it and get it banned?

I'm hoping the government/censors are smart enough to differentiate between legitimate anime and lolicon. Aside from 'Komodo no Jikan' (which won't be missed) I don't think much will change in the mainstream industry.

No, lolicon is always bad. Always.
Remember, folks; everything this guy says is fact.
No, he's right, lolicon is bad, and my opinions are fact. >____>

Also lol @ me searching up "Loli" on Google, third search is moéchan and the first thing I say is a Loli getting uh... banged. LOLI IS AWESOME!

There's a difference between not liking something, and something being unacceptable. I don't like it either, but I'm not going to belittle something that is still a big part of the anime industry and is something I don't have much knowledge of.

I have yet to see anyone prove as to why lolicon is actually bad. All I see is people trying to cover their arses in order to keep themselves as far away from being suspected of being a lolicon as possible.

I'm not defending it, but I'm not attacking it either.
