What have you rated 10/10?

5 Centimeters Per Second is the one thing that stands out to me as perfect. Art, story and music were all top notch.
Can't disagree with that. As well as being everything a brilliant Shinaki film ought to be, it has quite a few trains in it. If you don't like the way the romance comes to it's natural and bittersweet conclusion, you can still appreciate the trains.

If you like trains, that is. Needless to say, I myself do.

First a Giant Robo fan, now a train fan. Thread delivers.

I love trains. They evoke such a powerful sense of nostalgia, something Shinkai understands and milks for everything it's worth. I'd definitely have rated 5cm Per Second a big fat ten if not for that God awful musical montage at the end.

I've grown to like trains a lot now because of Shinkai's films.

I'm not generally all that into trains but I do love the level of detail Shinkai puts into his. 5cm per Second was terrifyingly beautiful in that respect and it helped immerse me in the scene instantly to concentrate on the [depressing but lovely] story.

I like stations more than actual trains. Especially neat Japanese stations with signs everywhere and men with spotless white gloves keeping things organised.

I must admit, I prefer the actual tracks. Some of the images of empty train tracks can be somewhat haunting, but beautiful at the same time.

Anime series' that I have personally rated with the score of 10/10 are;

Elfen Lied
Death Note
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu

Now this is a tough one! We have to be so disciplined to decide but I'll try.

Anime
The Vision of Escaflowne
Cowboy Bebop
Witch Hunter Robin
Azumanga Daioh
Laputa
Gunbuster
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro
Dragon Ball (original)

I need to finish other titles to make a final decision on those.

Manga
Akira
Domu: A Child's Dream
Gunsmith Cats
Love Hina
Fushigi Yugi
Ceres Celestial Legend
Yotsuba&!

That's all off the top of my head.

Cowboy Bebop is a show that I appreciate more as I get older. It's brilliantly written, directed, designed, and scored. It seamlessly blends drama and comedy; has a cast of endearing, iconic characters; high quality (for TV) art and animation; and style in abundance. I might have to revise my score.

Even though Bebop doesn't contain as much "adult" content as some other shows, it's one of the most genuinely adult anime I've ever watched. It's one of very few shows that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to people who aren't anime fans.
