What Games Are You Playing?

I finished playing through the demo today, it was excellent. Can’t wait for the full release! I’ve pre-ordered the PS4 physical edition from Play Asia, so it‘ll probably take a while to get to me. after Persona 3 Reload, it seems Atlus doesn’t release PS4 editions of its games physically in the west any more. Had to import Asian physical versions of both SMT V Vengeance and Unicorn Overlord for PS4 as I refuse to buy new games digitally.

I made a brief start on the demo but liked what I saw so far, I plan to finish it this week but had already pre-ordered the game anyway as Atlus have generally been cooking lately.

I’ve had a bit of a Persona run with revisiting 4 Golden on Switch, which I beat in less time than I expected so I’ve ended up doing NG+ runs of P5 Royal and Scramble which have been enjoyable owing to not needing to grind or repeat certain time-consuming tasks like the persona fusion requests. I should really play The Answer soon too to finish off Reload.

October is going to be a busy month so I’m not sure what I’ll play during the spooky season.

Speaking of, my copy is apparently on the way and could arrive tomorrow according to RM. An early weekend present?

Edit - probably not RM said they were meant to deliver it today but failed to appear, tracking says they have it. Probably not showing up today now given time, seems like they'll appear tomorrow with it instead.

I returned to CS:GO and finally tried CS2. It turned out to be better than I thought. The graphics are impressive, and the gameplay feels smoother. Watching pro players has also helped me adapt my strategies. Their techniques and teamwork are really inspiring! Click for details on how they approach different maps and situations if you are also a CS fan.

I've completed a few games since my last post. I finally nabbed Fate/Extella and played through that. Good experience, even if it did shoot my wrist to hell (ah those musou games)
I've been reading a few more of the VNs for Muv Luv. I believe I only have a prequel of Total Eclipse (which I am not looking forward to because pain and suffering) and a Photonmelodies left.
I saw someone mention Gal*Gun went on one hell of a discount so I picked up Double Peace and 2. I competed Double Peace fully and I've started 2, but I can't lie, 2 feels more clunky than Double Peace (probably because it's VR compatible) so I'll probably just run through all the endings and leave it at that.
I also finally got round to playing Tomb Raider (2013). I bought this like 7 years ago but never really gave it a proper go. I really enjoyed it. I don't know why I took so long to get round to it but I had a great time. Exactly the kind of game I felt like playing. I'll need to look into getting Rise and Shadow at some point to complete the trilogy.
I played through Assassins Creed Brotherhood too! Another solid game. Just such a shame it's Ubisoft behind the AC games. Them and their awful, compulsory launcher, even if you have the game on steam

Completed Metaphor ReFantazio....took me 68 hours and i was level 85 going into the last fight. I admit i played on storyteller as i play games for the story.

Have to say I really enjoyed it. Liked all the characters and didn't get bored with it like Person 5 (which I eventually finished)

I'm near the end or feels like it, I've played on hard and have a similar playtime but I'm like level 60. Hard can be quite punishing if you get unlucky but I set myself a challenge to do it.

The world building/story is a lot more interesting than Persona I think but there are still a lot of similarities in the gameplay loop. Good to actually leave school though and I hope the game is successful enough for them to consider making more in the franchise.

I like the fact the story is a bit darker in nature. I think the dungeons are a bit less well designed though and feel more basic (sort of like a basic DND dungeon as opposed to the crafted palace layouts we had in P5).

The gauntlet runner is awesome and the OST is also pretty good especially in the earlier zones and when you set off on the runner.

All the side characters are well written and likeable and I do like the slightly shorter length as P5 was easily over 100 hours.

I’ve been working my way through Alan Wake Remastered, Control, and now Alan Wake II. The first two games here had their ups and downs in terms of combat and gameplay but the story and concepts are great, and AWII has been solid so far.

Currently got 3 games I'm playing side by side

Hi-Fi Rush: Heard a lot about this when it first came out. I thought to myself "that looks really cool! I'll play it... some day..." And now nearly 2 years later I finally am. It's been great so far, I'm not too far in though so maybe it will get even better (????)

Disgaea 2: I've played a few Disgaea games before (1, 4 & 5 completed them all) and I've wanted to play 2 for a while since I started it 2 years ago and just left it. Like 2 days ago I cheesed the game and got to level 50 when I should be around 15. Right now I'm sweeping every level because all of the enemies are like lvl 12, it's still fun though and the story so far is interesting (hopefully it won't crap itself like 4 and 5 COUGH COUGH COUGH.)

9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors: I've wanted to play this one for so so so long (got to be like 6-7 years at least) and when it went on sale a few weeks ago I just had to get it (Nonary Games on Steam.) It's very good so far. Every session I've had with it I've got really into it and forgot how long I'd been playing for.

Once I'm done with these games I'd like to move on to some others I've got / FINALLY BUY ARMORED CORE 6 UGHHH.

I loved 9 Hours, 9 Persona, 9 Doors. Fantastic story even if I really struggled with some puzzles.

It's funny that I have finished Disgaea 3 gotten part way through Disgaea 1 Complete and Disgaea 7 but not finished either of them. Which is a shame because they were both delightful. Glad to hear 2 is also good and hopefully it is re-released on consoles someday.
