A couple of boxes of MTG cards, and the latest issue of Dengeki Bunko Magazine, which would have been the straw that broke the camel's back had I tried to bring it back with me from Japan.

BDs:

Sakamichi no Apollon v.2
Nisemonogatari v.5
Gundam Unicorn v.5

A small box of anime BDs/DVDs including No. 6
Damn, even with a list of stuff coming out I still forgot to order this, got to get to it.

The first of five boxes I sent myself from Japan after exhausting my physical carrying capacity. This one is full of 10kg of doujinshi, so it's a good day.
Five is... a lot. Paying the postage can't have been much fun, the last time I had to send a bunch of stuff back we were around 150¥/£, and it still hurt. Was quite pleased with the vastly increased luggage capacity on economy flights now, though, managed to bring everything back with me this year, even if it left me pretty broken carrying it.

Even if I can't read the novels, I've been flicking through them, looking at the few illustrations and really, just being really intrigued by the size of them. Thinking about it, they're quite an intelligent size; both in terms of length in proportion to content on each page and the size of the books themselves.

I'm also quite annoyed with myself that there's not enough space on my shelves to show them off. Will correct that soon, with any luck xD

Bunko sized books should be world-wide standard for paperbacks. I am much less likely to read a book casually these days if I can comfortably hold in open in one hand while I'm eating or something.

Also, bunko sized books look like they could fit in your pocket (I haven't tried yet). Most books these days would have to be carried in a bag to read out of the house.

The edition of Wuthering Heights my English class used back at college was similar in size (thinner, but slightly taller) and it made things so much easier.

I am currently wearing some trousers with pockets of pretty much the exact right size, yup. Although I do also have a bag with an inside flap seemingly designed to carry bunko editions. ^^;

I think I screwed myself on the very day of arrival by buying 20kg of things at Comiket day 1 and being on one of the lamer airlines in terms of allowances >_>;

Shipping fees indeed made me sad, though the treasures gradually returning over time make it almost seem that the holiday isn't over, right? Right? ;_;

Hmm, I did wonder if it was a general increase or just some airlines. I have been with Lufthansa before, and since the last time they have basically doubled their allowance to 2 x 23kg suitcases, and two "proper" pieces of hand luggage. You quickly remember that there aren't a massive number of elevators to help you out along the way carrying those four pieces up and down train station steps on your own, though.

By the time you have collected and sorted everything, you will be so far into planning next year that it will just seem like one long cycle, maybe.

That is very sexy. Virgin are still on 1x 23kg suitcase and 1x cabin bag (though I sort of flaunt this with my extra 'handbag'). They do let you pay a tiny extra charge for additional suitcases but I thought that even if I could physically move them around, customs might be perturbed if I had a train of suitcases following me through the airport.

If my timing is less stupid next time (landing on the morning of Day One was special, and rather limited airline options) I'd like to have a slightly less aggressive baggage limit.

Holy moly, I've done landing on the Thursday evening before, but that is exponentially crazier. :lol:

You're spot on though, when I was checking in before leaving, the lady says "You're checking in one piece of luggage?" and I started sweating a little bit and asking things like "I'll probably be checking in two pieces on my return flight, that won't seem weird, right? RIGHT?!"

From Amazon I received volumes 4 and 5 of the Black Lagoon manga. Really looking forward to the Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise arc.
