What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Good point. I went with Mandarake for the Frontier movies, since the English subbed release of those is long out of print. I wanted to vote with my wallet where possible though, to show there's demand for subbed Macross releases. With Nozomi functionally gone, I suspect the only hope for a subbed BD of the Frontier TV series in the next decade is if it happens in Japan. I could see that maybe, maaaaaybe happening in the run-up to the BDs of the next Macross series, whenever they finish making that.
Based on Frontier and Delta's audition to broadcast timeline I think it's likely we'll get the new project about mid to late 2026 given auditions started in March.

They're my usual choice and I've always been impressed by how securely they package things. The only reason I didn't use them this time was a ¥2000 price difference on the box set.

About monthly CDJapan has a ¥1000 coupon on an order of ¥10000 plus their points, so direct comparing prices with Amazon doesn't really paint an accurate picture of what you save if anything. Of course to effectively use their points you need to order fairly often since the larger portion of those expire in 90 days.

If I absolutely have to buy something from Amazon because no one else has it, I pay for gift bag shipping which forces them to ship in a box, and then if they just throw the item in the box with no other padding, at least the gift bag offers some protection. At least that works on Amazon UK; I haven't bought anything from Amazon Japan in years.

At least you got the cardboard envelope. Amazon Japan maybe doesn't do this, but Amazon US and Amazon UK will sometimes just stick a mailing label right on the item for a blu-ray box like this, no packaging at all!

My Temu sofa throw arrived and I'm super happy with it, it's utterly gorgeous and machine washable to boot! :D

A few local warehouse items from Shein arrived as well - one pair of pants and a bra plus this gorgeous pink dress that I absolutely love and feel like a princess in, rly happy with the underwear too, and I'll have lots more of that arriving today most likely 🥰

Not much reason to post a picture

Samsung S23 Plus. Chose it as a balance between wanting an upgrade while not spending stupid £££

My S20 FE has lasted 3½ years of heavy use and still works perfect. Just the screen is delaminating on the sides. Wouldnt have cared but there are a few apps I cant afford to loose

Can finally retire my old S9 from alarm clock duties 😹😹

2025 HAUL - JUNE v7

More packages this past week. There may be one or two more before the month wraps up but here's the latest.

4K Haul - The Penguin 1.jpg

#16: Cyber Citizen Shockman Collection & Magical Drop VI
Limited Run Games shipped out another batch of pre-orders and here we have one retro collection and a new instalment to a retro franchise now brought over to the Nintendo Switch.

Cyber Citizen Shockman Collection is a collection of action platformers with three of them previously released on the PC Engine; 1989's Cyber Citizen Shockman from developer Winds, 1991's Cyber Citizen Shockman 2: A New Menace from developer Winds, and 1992's Cyber Citizen Shockman 3: The Princess from Another World from developer Masaya Games which outside of the second game was only available in Japan. Also included in this collection is 1997's Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero which was released in Japan for the Satellaview & Super Famicom from developer Masaya Games.

Also arrived is Magical Drop VI from French developer Highball Games and Poland developer Storm Trident that was released in 2023 first for the Nintendo Switch and then other platforms a year later. This is another case of a Japanese IP being worked on by a western developer and from what I've seen they've put a lot of effort paying homage to the second & third games in this franchise. And I've always been interested in the retro puzzle games and since this is the newest from a classic IP I wanted to pick it up. Forever Entertainment published this game who also worked on a few remakes like House of the Dead and Panzer Dragoon.

#17: Junji Ito Uzumaki UNIQLO T-Shirt
After receiving the Gundam shirt from UNIQLO I had a look at what else was being offered because these are limited editions and can sell out pretty fast if you don't time it right. Looking around the store was also offering a Dark Fantasy Manga range which was dedicated to Berserk, Parasyte and Uzumaki and I went with the Junji Ito Uzumaki shirt which looks great.

The Witch from Nepal 1.jpg

#18: Sunset Warriors & Witch from Nepal
88 Films' June slate had a whole bunch of Asian Cinema titles being released and because they have the habit of being delayed for various circumstances, I didn't pre-order all of them at once, which is why the Jackie Chan titles came first. I heard that the rest did eventually hit their release dates on time I ordered the two other Hong Kong films that 88 Films were releasing.

First up we have Sunset Warriors (九死一生), the original 1984 cut for John Woo's 1986 film Heroes Shed No Tears (英雄無淚). 88 Films released the more known version of this film back in 2020 and five years later we have a new release with new artwork, more content and if you missed out on the original first print edition, this new limited edition release makes up for it as there's a second disc that covers the Heroes Shed No Tears version.

Next we have Witch from Nepal (奇緣), the 1986 Hong Kong film by Tony Ching Siu-Tung starring Chow Yun-fat. This is the director's second film after Duel to the Death which Eureka already released. This supernatural film looks like great fun and 88 Films went with a deluxe limited edition package which includes a booklet, box, slipcase and nice artwork throughout.

PS5 Haul 2025 - 07 - Death Stranding 2 1.jpg

#19: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Before the pandemic, I played Death Stranding on the PlayStation 4 and was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the game's mechanics and story. It's a very different game to the other modern titles and is an acquired taste, but Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions definitely had a vision that worked.

Now we're in 2025 and they have released the next game in the series with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for the PlayStation 5. I did think about playing through the first game's director's cut but I decided to jump straight into this one.

I managed to find the steelbook collectors edition of Project Itoh: Harmony for only £6 which was a steal. Sing Yesterday for Me and Rascal Dreams of Bunny Senpai are both from MVM.

I am currently playing We Love Katamari on PS plus but I always try to buy physical copies of games I really enjoy so I picked up the US version (no physical UK version :( ) Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes really interested me as I recently started playing the Suikoden remasters and I read it was headed by that series's creator that combined with the beautiful art style made me want to try it out. The Lunar Remastered set was recently on sale on Amazon and I had a voucher to use so I bought it even though it will likely be a while before I play them (I have a backlog of games almost as big as Mount Fuji 😁)

Astria Ascending and Cyberpunk were upgrades from the PS4 versions.

I bought a new MSI All-in-One PC to replace my 11-year old MSI AIO, so I won't have to deal with Windows 11 incompatibility, and also to rectify a few issues I've been having with it recently. I think I got my money's worth out of the old one, it has a 24" screen, 8 GB memory, an i5 2nd Generation processor, and an internal Blu-ray drive. I had upgraded the 1TB 2.5" spinning HDD to a 2TB SSD a few years ago. My new AIO was on sale for $350 off, at a price of $999:

MSI All-in-One Computer PRO AP272P 14M-600US Intel Core i7-14700 32GB DDR5 1TB PCIe SSD 27" Windows 11 Pro 64-bit

With the $350 I saved, I also purchased a 4TB SSD to install in the empty, internal 2.5" drive bay, and an external LG USB Blu-ray drive which I plan to mount onto the back of the PC (Velcro, perhaps?) to watch my anime Blu-rays with, just like I did with my old MSI with the internal Blu-ray drive. The new MSI looks just like a standard 27" monitor, with a wireless Keyboard and mouse.

Loo roll (I always buy enough for the next couple of months in case calamity happens) and my first actual smartphone, I currently have a basic smol brick phone and an iPod Touch as my smart device (also an iPad Pro w Apple Pencil as a drawing tablet and backup messaging device but that's not as portable ofc). I haven't set this up yet cuz I need a nano sim so I'll be going to O2 someday soon to get a nano sim copy of my current sim card made, I didn't really want a smartphone but they are shutting down the 3G network soon, so here we are. Will be nice being able to use Whatsapp though! XP

I'm well impressed that you held off for so long, but also disappointed that circumstances seem to be forcing you to get on the bandwagon!
