We Have (No) Faith in Humanity

Death Scythe
List things that increased or decreased your faith in humanity recently. We'll give humanity the benefit of the doubt and begin with a neutral score of zero. Each positive thing will give a +1 Faith in Humanity Score, and each negative thing will give a -1. Was evolution a mistake? Let's find out.

Rules:
  • To avoid us ending up with a score of -1,000,000, please keep to things of interest to otaku. It doesn't all have to be anime/manga, but should at least be entertainment-related. If we started to delve into the full scope of human atrocities, this would quickly turn into a miserable thread.
  • So that the score is a barometer of current opinion, please base your statements on things that happened recently (say in the last month or so), or things that you became aware of recently.
  • End each post by calculating the current points total. There will be one total score for eveyone in the thread rather than individual scores per person.
Let's get started.

Urusei Yatsura finally gets a new anime adaptation. +1

Upon visiting the Mandarake website for the first time recently, I saw that they hold auctions for second-hand porno body-pillow covers. This surely brings a new meaning to the term 'pre-loved', and the fact that people are bidding against each other to own a soiled pillow case makes this a definite -1

Microsoft are paying a horrifying $68 billion to buyActivision Blizzard. Not only does this wall off a pile of high profile franchises to Team Xbox without MS having to do anything remotely creative, it will also mean a golden parachute for Activision's highly controversial CEO. -1

Current Faith in Humanity Score: -1

I'd kinda wanted to see Dennou Coil for years, but had always assumed it never got an official release in English (apparently it's had a DVD and a BD in the US? I had no idea), so it turning up on UK Netflix is a +1 for me.

I actually own the US Dennou Coil Blu-ray release, I got it when UP1 was offering it for less than £25 on sale in the specials section :)

The migration to electric cars and the fact that lots of people are giving up cars altogether+1. The last time I owned a car was 7 years ago, now I either walk and/or take the bus to get to where I need to go.

It's the censored version, take that whichever way you want, but seeing what's happened since you started this thread I think we're at minus a million by now, so a point here or there isn't going to make a difference!
