Watchmen Trailer

Has all the legal trouble around this film been worked out yet? Last i looked the release was being held back because of it.
I believe it is, as cinemas have trailers for this movie and a release date already.

This looks freaking awesome.

I was never that into comics (only read Ultimate Spiderman and X-treme X-Men), but this looks badass. Can't wait.

yeh looks good... xtreme x-men was the worst x-men series of all time... yes, yes it was.

I really need to make some time to read the graphic novel (which I bought at Christmas) before seeing the film. It is one of those classics I never seemed to get around to, but now with the film coming I thought it was time to make the effort. I might take it to work tomorrow and make a start on it instead of reading manga at lunch time.

Really hope they don't blow it, I'm a massive Alan Moore fan - looks promising, so long as it's treated better than The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen..

I'm becoming more optimistic about this by the minute. I've learnt the rough cut of the film was 2hrs 45 and browsing the cast list on IMDB I notice almost all of the minor characters listed. Looks like they've barely cut anything from the GN. :thumb:

I've been watching as many trailers and bits for this as I can as it looks so good so far. I am tempted to actually go and see it on release if I can but I hate full cinemas.

Watchmen was rated 18s? I wouldn't have expected that, to be honest.

I'm really excited about going to see this on Friday :] Then the Tales of the Black Freighter DVD is out in a few weeks, too, which I also can't wait for!

I assume your purchasing it, then? I want to see it badly, the trailer looks fantastic but I think I'm going to wait to see it when I buy Watchmen on BD; It'd be running throughout the movie that way and basically means less expenditure on my part. I have to get The Motion Comic as well...

I will definitely be buying it. It's only €10 on Play.com, so I can't imagine it being more expensive than €15 on the high street. The trailer does look very good; I like the anime look of it, and the voice acting seems spot on. I don't know if I care to watch the BD Watchmen with Black Freighter running through it, to be honest. I can't see it making the movie any better.

As for the motion comic ... it's intriguing, but I can imagine myself getting very bored with it far too quickly.

Well, I went to see it yesterday - it was awesome. I'm so glad it did the GN justice. Probably not as good as it's source material, but I think you'd be hard pressed to do a more faithful adaption.

Just seen it yesterday as well. As wild pointed before me, Snyder was as faithful to the source material as possible. The characters personality were extremely faithful to the comics, which please me immensely.

There were a few great songs licensed for this, which felt out of place to me. I love a few of those songs, it's just that I don't think they fit very well there.

The ending, which received many rants around, was actually pretty good, blaming Dr Manhattan made everything move believable, IMO

I liked it over all, although it did lose steam towards the end, probably bought about by it starting to move away from the original material. Or just trying to leave out too much of the stuff they thought was superfluous but was what actually told the story in the graphic novel.

I really, really enjoyed the movie. I think it done the comic justice, though it was clearly never going to match it on any level due to the limitations of the medium. I adored the soundtrack, too, and I'll be buying it quite soon :]

I really hope i get to see this movie soon, unfortunately my cinema seems to be the only one in the country not yet screening it! Yet some how they can spare the space for Hotel for Dogs!
