Watched a anime while drunk

There were several anime Moomins made, but only the one that we know that I believe was dubbed by the BBC (but don't hold me to that as it's still very early). I know that one of them was so different to the original Finnish comics that the creator through a hissy fit and got them to stop making the series.
 
Being a fan (sad I know) I've just been reading up on these other, less well known Moomin series. The one Tove Janson objected to apparently included cars, money and violence.

I so badly want to see this now.

Nothing wrong with liking the Moomins, I love them. I've got the felt version of this which is very different to the anime that we know. I also want to see the other two Moomin animes and the films that they made as well. Shame they're unlikely to ever get translated.

Moomin World in Finland looks great as well :D.

Another anime really good drunk is Lucky Star, it makes even more sense and feels faster.
 
I don't believe I've done this. Which is probably for the best, since most of my friends aren't too fussed about watching anime, so I'd probably be alone and drunk, and thus on the slippery slope to alcoholism.

You make this sound like it's a bad thing. :roll:

I have watched countless number from anything relaxed to tipsy, but i can only think of three anime that I've watched drunk or onward. Dragon Half was even more enjoyable drunk. Imaging 12 drunk people trying to sing the ending song in japanese, now picture 6 Scots, 2 Irish, 1 tone deaf Englishman and 3 random people singing very badly.
She ultimate weapon needs half a bottle of whiskey to get through the last three episodes, and watching eva drunk seems to be a right of passage to anime fans.

On a side note a drunken anime thought- wouldn't eva be better if the characters genders were reversed? Remeber vaguely seeing the OP where they did this when drunk and the more i think about it the more sense it makes.
 
I was trying to track down the version of the Moomins which I used to watch as a child, not long ago. I think must've been the anime version considering the animation if I remember correctly. Still havn't managed to find it though.

A couple of tweaks here and there, ad the storyline would remain quite intact. I'd fathom most of said tweaks would revolve around the male version of Asuka.

As Maltos suggests, the 1990 Moomins anime would be a great choice for inebriation animation. I still remember my childhood nightmares as clear as day.

Agreed. But if it's faster, I want the episodes to be longer. :p Next disk!

I must admit, I've had a few sometimes just before anime, with no particualr genre in mind. 1st series of Code Geass, Outlaw star, Naruto - this had their odd episodes watched while I had some Bulmar cider with me. It doesn't change how loud I may laugh at things, but I am more absorbed and I laugh more frequently (Ryo and tell you that.) :D
 
If I'm drunk I have other things to think about, like throwing up or finding something to collapse on. Anime never crosses my mind if I've been out on the piss.
 
When drunk I'm usually worried about drining more, cigarretes, women and rock'n'roll.

Not necessarily in this order.

lol similar problems for me,

Once i've been out on the town, i have a urge to eat garlic bread, or a half a pounder burger, if someone offers me a cig, i'm more likely to say yes, and i have a nasty urge to drink 2 drinks to every 1 that my mates are drinking.

Always manage to buy myself a bottle or can of coke, and walk 3 miles to get home. Sometims i've watched GITS, it all looked abit too real for my liking.

Note of wisdom; NEVER watch requiem into the darkness whilst drunk, that show isn't right to watch whilst sober, whilst drunk you might aswell scoop out your brain on the floor and watch it die infront of you, its a real mindf***
 
The thought of being able to turn valuable electrical items on whilst drunk and at home is a (thankfully) novel one to me, but I'll have to try and watch Mind Game, Noiseman Sound Insect or Cat Soup next time.
 
hmmmm not anime, games yes. It's never as fun as I hope it will be =( oh except one time when all my mates were over and we played Perfect Dark on 360. That was classic XD
