Overseas US: FUNimation Limited Edition, Anime Classics and S.A.V.E./Essentials releases

Information on ALL of Funimation's releases, ever, should be present in ANN's releases database. If anything is missing from there or not obviously visible, give me a shout.

Thanks - very useful. Wasn't aware of that DB.

I spotted what is listed as a Hellsing LE in the ANN link. It's not in this threads spreadsheet. The Amazon link looks a bit "LE"-y...

Anyone know if it is a chipboard set? A seller had it for about $20 - which seeing as it's under the customs threshold I've had a punt on it...

edit: found a youtube unboxing of the Hellsing Set. It does indeed look like a chipboard set. Youtube link if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the extra information. Shiroi i went through the ANN database to check the titles.

Also added Hellsing Ultimate V-VIII as this indeed come in a chipboard box set. Since the LE tab also contains Fractale, Level E and Princess Jellyfish which weren't sold as LE editions but come in a chipboard it's only normal that Hellsing Ultimate V-VIII also deserves it's place.

The one thing you may not find on ANN is FUNi store exclusives as they have to be added manually by staff (most other releases can be added by anyone using store links to generate the data; the exception had been Aniplex and other TRSI exclusives until their new site since the old one didn't present enough information to generate a listing)
The old Rightstuf links are gone, but the data is still present in the back end so if you need anything from the old rightstuf site I can probably dig it up.

For that Hellsing volume the TRSI listing said "This limited edition includes an artbox sized to hold both DVD/Blu-ray combo sets 1 and 2 of Hellsing Ultimate."

I own that Hellsing Ultimate Limited Edition - lets release an artbox for sets 1 & 2 and then release the series in 3 sets  .

No problem.

On another note...
I was starting to get annoyed that so much anime (particularly the US Imports and LE's) were not in the Anime category on amazon.co.uk so started to play around with the search options to try and make it friendlier.

I discovered that in advanced search you can search by EAN and you can also use the | as an OR operator. Thus I took all EAN's from the spreadsheet formatted appropriately and generated a search. Don't know if it'll be of use to anyone here but thought I'd share the outcome. Next page does not work so I've linked each of the 4 pages of results manually. I certainly found it refreshing to to see so many relevant results on one page...

Blu-Ray LE's

DVD Only LE's

You should be able to swap out .co.uk for .com in the above links to get prices on amazon.com instead.

Ebay supports search by UPC too and has a OR operator in the form of a comma but only appears to support up to 7 OR items per search so if anyone wants to make use of that you may be best to create saved searches specifically for the UPC's you are after.

(Hopefully those long links will work OK here)

Great work there msgeek, and also thanks for the Sankarea tip. Also committed to buy Sankarea LE, but need to wait for confirmation as the seller hasn't listed Belgium as a possible shipping destination.

Your back end access wouldn't permit you to dump a listing of "Title, Release Date, UPC" for all Blu-Ray releases by any chance would it?

UPC appears to be included in the DB but you have to drill into each item one by one to retrieve it when going via the front-end.

My recent playing around with UPC searches on Amazon has got me intrigued at the possibilities...

The edit screen is for individual releases. There is an API but release data is not included for technical reasons. You can get a list of BD releases, but it would have to be scraped and iterated to get the UPC data.

Oh well thanks anyway. I already had the BD list. Interesting that there is an API... I may have to look into that when I get a bit more time.

Not quite a sale so I thought I'd put it here but a Ebay US seller has recently listed a load of Anime (Including a lot of LE's) for reasonable prices and has shipping to the UK and customs services. They are also offering buy it now and seem to be auto-accepting offers $5 under the asking price.

I picked up black butler II LE and the two series of is this a zombie in LE (DVD) format...

Possibly some other non-funi bargains in there too if you are more familiar with DVD anime than I am.

Disclaimer: I have never used this seller before so don't take it as an endorsement... More of a "hmm look at this".... It could be great but could also end up a terrible experience (although feedback is good).

Thanks msgeek, got Shaka from that seller after making an order that was below the customs grab limit and the seller accepted.

Also updated the spreadsheet to include the November releases, more info will be added as soon as this is available.

If anyone's after the A Certain Magical Index Season 1 LE DVD, i've just seen it on ebay for £20.99:

Also there are still some Sankarea Blu-ray LE sets from the same seller as before he just relisted them, he's accepting offers too (i offered him $12 before postage which he accepted so ended being around £18-19 which postage):

Is Sankarea one the broadcast edit version?

Yeah it is, the uncut version was only released as a standard blu-ray combo set.
