June's UK blu ray releases added

Spy X Family Season 1 Part 1

I can confirm the following titles are region B compatible,

Crunchyroll:
Date A Live IV - Complete Series
Dawn of the Witch - Complete Series
Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody - Complete Series

Media Blasters:
Tweeny Witches - Complete Series

Sentai:
Seitokai Yakuindomo Complete Collection (Season 1 & 2 and first movie): at least Geolocked (works on PS4 & PS5. Can't confirm if it's Region B)

Sentai Bypass method PS5:
I've seen descriptions for the PS3 and PS4, but not for the PS5. It's very similar to the PS4 (difference in bold text):

1) When region lock screen appears, press Options followed by Control Panel, and then go to Jump.
2) Select Title and the number depending on the anime disc (so disc 1 could be Title 4 or 5 for instance).
3) You should then be able to watch the first episode immediately.

Discotek Media Region 2:
Key the Metal Idol

Thanks for updating this thread for all these years. I've been lurking on this forum for over 2 years, finally decided to make an account. I hope I can contribute again.

Media Blasters (Anime Works)
Region 2

Genshiken 2

---

There isn't a list of Media Blasters DVD releases yet so I expected this one to be region locked, but this one works!

I suspect the first season will also be region 2 compatible, but I don't own that one so I can't confirm that.

Hello Puringa,
Darren Skippings copy which is likely an older print is region locked so I had to remove genshiken 2 from the list.
Darren also checked out 56 other titles (appreciate the hard work) and can confirm they are also region locked.

Having just checked all of my mediablasters (anime works) DVDs, to see which might be region 2 compatible, 56 series later, I can say with complete honesty, none are,
I did also test my own copy of Genshiken 2, as Denny has already stated, my copy is the original release, so it is possible the newer reprint/release could well be region 2 compatible, I have no way to say either way, as I own the oldest release, hope this helps those that were hoping for a cache of region 2 compatible DVDs, sorry to confirm it not being the case, those that wish to know the series please ask, I don't mind answering but they are not compatible with standard UK players.

I have the more recent 'Litebox' version that is still being sold at Rightstuf (that's where I got it from). The entire series is released on 3 discs in a single DVD case. I'm currently watching it on my European PS5. All 3 discs work without any issues.

Maybe I should've been more specific in mentioning the version. I'll be more specific next time!

Darren, that's a LOT of work. Thanks for going through all of them. I didn't expect any to work (I also have Simoun on DVD and that one definitely doesn't work). That's why I was so surprised that my copy of Genshiken 2 did work. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

One more addition to the list:
Kimi ni Todoke: right now it's stated that the Limited Edition is compatible with Playstation consoles, but the standard version works as well.

region codes are a lottery most of the time, it was something I didn't mind doing as I have always meant to do it, you finding the Litebox version just gave the excuse, I think I have the same release of Simoun, it's a shame that more weren't found to be region 2 as it would have given Mediablasters some more custom from over here, fortunately all the BDs are region B compatible (so far) as there is not much chance of seeing a UK release, it give some more titles to our under supplied shores.

Regarding Genshiken:
Could you insert in in a PC and check the date of the files on the disc? maybe that could clear things up.
And keep in mind that e.g. VLC ignores DVD regions by default.

I so wish I could, unfortunately both my DVD drives on my PC are broken and I have no way to replace/fix them at present, as I'm saving up for a new desktop to deal with my old system being more and more defunct.
