I own the US release, indeed I chose it over the UK release because it has the DVDs, and they are watchable. In fact, upscaled, the DVDs look better than the Blu-rays.

They do take a while on average, the most I've had to wait is a few weeks. But 3-5 weeks is outrageous!

My emails show it was a DOTW a few years back (presumably alongside the standard?). I would assume that if it isn’t, it means there aren’t many left in stock (so patience may not be useful any more).
