A trailer for Berserk – Golden Age Arc I: Egg of the Supreme King has been released.

Due out in Japanese theatres in January 2012, it is the first of a trilogy of movies adapted from Kentarō Miura original manga. Animated by Studio 4°C, it has been directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka who has worked as animation director on notable titles like Gankutsuou, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and the Working Through Pain Segment of Batman:Gotham Knight.

For more information check the film's website.

Now that is what i was waiting for. I noticed the date was confirmed a few days ago and mentioned it on Skype as well, but that trailer, that is what i was kinda hoping for. January 2012, set in me calander now.

First I read Warner Bros are making a Julius Ceaser Movie and now this. I don't think it can get much better today. Now for the drinking to begin :D

No. It's a remake which will follow the manga better.

Huuuuuuuuurgh... I hope they don't take as long covering the same arc as the anime series. I felt that could've benefitted from LOTS of editing it was vastly too decompressed.

From what i remember, and discussed recently on it. The Golden Age is being covered in 3 movies. The rest of the content of Berserk is set to be covered as well, however i think that is in OVA format. So this will be the first of 3 parts covering it all, but i get the feeling you may see some of the other content come out during that, or at least have it's format 100% confirmed.

They kinda need to cover it again anyways, considering they will be going beyond it, they need to get in a couple of the key characters which weren't shown before, and finish off the golden age properly too, instead of leaving it the way they did previously.

Double hurgh... why did I even bother watching Berserk at all then...

Also, while that's a nice trailer, VERY not feeling the cgi mixing. Why can some series and films do it so seamlessly (paprika, Karas and even family guy and futurama to an extent) and some make it look pretty nasty and out of place (iron man anime, gits remake)

Is there any confirmation that they will animate the rest past the Golden Age?

I want to see this animated before I die, although even if they only animated the Lost Children arc I'd be content, I need something NEW man.
Is that game worth getting do you know?
With music like this how can it not be?
