Wanted to say that this is such a great thread and collection. Well done! Both are organised so nicely and are aesthetically pleasing!

I think the way you’ve organised the full shelf and collection looks really nice. Plus, I really like how you frame your photo shots of individual products within the room. Nice touches on the monthly roundup photo and the tables with upcoming purchases too.

I’ll definitely keep checking it out your collection and thread. 🙂👍
 
Followed a link to this thread from another and I second Gareth: very, very useful thread for ambivalent characters like myself who don't easily get enticed with the pricier/bulkier/varying-sized collector's editions unless standard ones are not available (though I also agree your arrangements are fantastic speaking as someone possibly with borderline OCD)

Very, very jealous of the owarimonogatari sets - would they work on a UK PS4? I preferably want to get their UK releases if/when that happens and also don't think I can bring myself to part with the funds required to get the US ones...

Thank you both! It's a collection that has spanned roughly 7-8 years and will continue to grow, although it depends on funding of course!

Regarding Owarimonogatari, the Aniplex of America releases (with the exception of Kiznaiver but that's out of print now) are 'all region' so you can play them on any Blu-ray player or games console without issue. Demon Slayer is geo-locked but will also work the same way as the Sentai discs would (i.e. a games console).

I do recommend waiting a bit longer for MVM to try and resolve their pace with Aniplex as I am optimistic that it can be sorted. If they manage to get the license for Koyomi, Owari Vol. 3 & Zoku Owari, they'll have to author their own discs like what they did with Kizu however, because the Australian distributor Hanabee had been on hiatus for years.

Fantastic, thanks for the info. Will also remain patient and optimistic. I also get the feeling that MVM are quite committed to bringing us Monogatari releases so that helps keep the faith heh.

Random Notes:​

A few additional notes that I felt like going over so why not.

Since April, I have been picking up a number of PlayStation 3 games on what I like to call "Operation PS3 THE FINAL", with the goal to acquire games that are currently available for regular value and to ensure I own them before Sony re-attempts to close the PS3 store at some point. The goal is to sort this out before the Summer is over, however the Japan import batch goal is whenever it can be done.

The good news is that many of the rarer games were already acquired when I did my haul back in 2017-2018 time. Since April I did manage to get a bunch more, with notable inclusions being 3D Dot Game Heroes, inFAMOUS 1 & 2, and the Ratchet & Clank PS3 games. I was also able to acquire Japanese imports with Biohazard: Chronicles HD Selection, Dungeons & Dragons: Mystara Eiyuu Senki, and The iDOLM@STER One for All.

So what's left to get? Well as I briefly mentioned in the PHOTOS thread, my list has now narrowed down to around 9 games in terms of what was localised or developed in the west.

Random Notes:​

The blog has a redesign! Out of nowhere. Because why not. Long story short, Ayase on the PHOTOS thread mentioned the previous design was messy for higher resolution monitors so I thought I could try and switch it up to make it easier. The bad news is that to officially make it more accessible or perfect I will have to get a Premium Plan which is going to happen sooner than later because the storage space is eventually going to reach its limit. Either way, it's very similar to the previous design but the side column is hidden to the top right corner due to the template design. I will have to edit older posts due to the line spacing on the headings but other than that, it's a decent look.

On the topic of video game hauls, I am pretty much wrapping up on the PS3 THE FINAL haul as I have all of the priority titles that I felt I want to get immediately, so what's left can be skipped if it ever happens. The exception to this will be the Japanese imports which I mentioned is expected to be completed by end of 2021 or early 2022.

The main focus as of late is pretty much the manga & light novels because I am very far behind on that area. Prison School is the next big 'I want all of it asap' title and so far I have 3 of 14 books, with 1 on order. I am hoping to finish collecting the series before the Summer is over. Yotsuba&! is being looked into as one that I can try to continue collecting (I have the first 4 volumes) but I want every volume to be readily available before jumping into it, otherwise it'll be a pain to deal with.

There's a lot of books to catch up on, especially many of the Yen On light novel titles I have though OVERLORD is almost in a pretty safe position which is very good news.

On the topic of anime, I hear DanMachi II's Premium Edition is close to selling out in the US and I have yet to get it. Worst case scenario I'll just grab the MVM collector's set, but we'll see how it goes (as the UK set did got on a DOTW at one point earlier this year).

Redux is back lol. This one had been on my mind as of late, especially considering the first season was my first import Blu-ray for the collection. I would like to cover a few more Redux posts as it'll be a while until I get more collector's for the main unboxings.
 
LOL for a moment there I thought you got Baka & Test Season 2 LE just now, but that doesn’t seems to be the case :)

That season 2 is missing in my collection and if I’m not mistaken the LE is actually the only Blu-ray FUNimation ever released for season 2.
