The Q4 2022 UK anime home video release schedule post is now live! This covers all of the releases planned between October to December 2022 from Anime Limited, Crunchyroll & MVM Entertainment.

Finalised artwork is shown when available, and dates are subject to change due to production delays (Anime Ltd), the US not releasing theirs just yet (Crunchyroll) or the holiday season ramping up and causing more problems (all of them).

Since it was suggested, I have now written up a Q4 2022 UK Asian cinema home video release schedule post which is now live. This covers all of the upcoming releases between October to December for local distributors like 88 Films, Arrow Video, Criterion, Eureka Entertainment, Third Window Films and more.

The Asian Cinema aspect focuses on Japanese, Chinese, Korean films and others that fit the group. Examples listed on the post include Arrow's JU-ON: The Grudge box set, Criterion's Infernal Affairs Trilogy, Eureka's Yes Madam!, Third Window's Nobuhiko Obayashi's 80s Kadokawa Years and 88 Film's Dragons Forever 4K UHD.

In addition, the Complete Otaku Collection update covering a majority of my collection is also available to view on the site. This is the 10th official update since I first started collecting anime and manga and blogging about it throughout the past 10 years.

The 2022 update adds 160 anime releases, 63 physical video games, 61 Asian Cinema releases, 18 light novel volumes, 166 manga volumes, and 3 manga box sets (containing 34 volumes).

I have written a two-part post dedicated to all of the video games I played throughout 2022! There were 31 completed games, so Part 1 covers games #1-17 while Part 2 covers games #18-31.

The games mentioned include Code Vein, God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7, Nioh Remastered, Resident Evil HD Remaster, Super Mario 64, Super Robot Wars V and many more.

Other Notes:

Expect more items arriving as per usual. No major notes to specify though I do have plans to get new IKEA shelves at some point in 2023 (one to replace the old bookshelf where the games are located, and another shelf to eventually replace the glass case).

You probably missed this unless you've been following me on Twitter. It's been a few years since I had last done this, but since last month I have decided to redesign the layout for my blog, so the result is essentially a mixture of the new and old. The traditional three-column layout for the home page makes a return and the previous layout's design for the main posts still retains its look, however the feature image is no longer included due to various factors.

The challenge here is that everything has to be updated, even the posts all the way back in 2018 so it will take months to sort this out. I also plan to update the older unboxing posts to use the current consistent design to make those old posts age better. So far the unboxing posts of the past 18-24 months have been amended, though I plan to add some bits and pieces. One notable difference some may notice, especially with the Otaku Collection and Industry News posts is that the image quality for the images will be a bit better as I've tweaked the resolution so that it's less blurry.

ETA for this whole blog to be fully sorted will likely be mid-Spring at best, but once it's done it'll look good.

Going to finally sort out the unboxing posts for those 88 Asia titles that I haven't covered since like 2020.

Focusing on Category III titles first so I've got Ebola Syndrome written up and ready, so that leaves me with Erotic Ghost Story, Robotrix and Riki-Oh. Plan is to publish them altogether but aim is to sort them out before the release of The Untold Story.

Also need to sort out Black Cat, Iceman Cometh, On the Run, Righting Wrongs, Seventh Curse, Snake & Crane Arts of Shaolin, and Tiger Cage Trilogy. All of which I want to sort out before Fight Back to School Trilogy is released.

Then there's also the first print edition titles like Forbidden City Cop, God of Gamblers, Gorgeous, Half a Loaf of Kung Fu, Heroes Shed No Tears, The Killer Meteors, and The Master. Haven't decided if I want to cover the Shaw Bros titles though.

The reason for not unboxing then as soon as they arrived is that I wanted to avoid repetition on the background part of each post. So I figured watching them first and adding my overall thoughts would make it stand out better than just repeating the same **** that I did with the Jackie Chan posts years ago. The other legit reason was also due to storage limitations on my blog, so anime was prioritised for the longest time.

As mentioned above, I have released a batch of catalog unboxing posts in May. So all of the Category III films from 88 Asia's line-up is now available on my blog. I haven't ordered The Untold Story yet but I will be picking it up and unboxing it when that is released. More titles will be added at a later point, the idea is to watch them first for added thoughts for each than just repeating the same structure.

The 28th Birthday is incoming but I have yet to finalise what titles I would like to own. It's going to be roughly the same range as last year but probably not going to have any special sets due to budget.

I do have plans to pick up more volumes from Seven Seas as I haven't bought any for a while and some have recently wrapped up, but we do have the Rightstuf Summer sale and the rumoured Discotek weekly special so I want to save most of my funds for those two especially now that I have GotAnime's 10% discount and 15% coupon code for any added bonuses that may not be part of the promotional deal. Because Rightstuf's sale will carry over into July I am hoping to get as many as possible within the restrictions that I have i.e. don't want to overdo a single basket due to shipping costs.

The video game collection is growing well and my plan is to try and finalise both the PS3 and PS4 collections by the end of the year, though what stops that from happening is mainly down to pricing because some games are still pretty pricey for what they should be. The backlog is high as a result of the games picked up over the years but half of them are estimated to take about 20 hours or less so I reckon I can try and knock it down over the next few years lol.

I have some unfortunate news. I was just alerted that my blog has been taken down due to "violations of T&S". I have contacted WordPress for an explanation and if there is indeed something that has caused them then I am hoping that it can be amended (for instance photos of a cover art or booklet etc.).

The photos are all safe but it's the write-ups that are lost. If WordPress has concluded that this is their final decision, then without the write-ups I don't have the confidence to continue working on this any further as it would take years to redo it all - I can always change my mind but this is just sad to end it all.

Thankfully I have some good news, as WordPress has now accepted my appeal and brought it back online. It appears the reason it got taken down was because it landed in their automated anti-spam system, which from the looks of it is a common issue for various blog readers. Which is interesting given this is the first time I've witnessed since ever since I moved over to WordPress back in October 2018.

Either way it's now backup and my plan is to start backing up the write-ups throughout the weekend.
