The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Rumours say they're looking to reboot the series under a different title so they can push it internationally like Kamen Rider or Ultraman, which currently isn't possible because of the Power Rangers deal. But I don't know if that will actually happen when one of the main reasons for ending it is due to merch / events / etc. not covering the production costs... You'd have to scale back from those all year round episodes I'd imagine.

Many fans have known for a while that the Super Sentai series is going to end with Gozyuger, but the series itself will continue under a rebrand (the new name has yet to be revealed, and we're currently waiting for a statement from both Toei and TV Asahi).

It seems the creator has put up a rant about the company that owns the vn holding production of this hostage unless they were removed from all promotional work. Seems to be very messy.

worth noting that the creator has been thrown off the anime project but is still supporting it

Aniplex USA has put up an English subtitled version of the Needy Girl Overdose trailer and confirmed it for streaming in the west, I guess. Interesting that they're keeping the original name unlike the game.

A new xxxHOLiC anime has just been posted on the CLAMP YouTube channel (Japanese language only).

ETA: This is actually an old video from 2010 that released with a xxxHOLiC manga volume back in the day, but I don't think it has ever been released in the UK before. It is also only up until 9th December.

Maybe we'll finally get the Tanya movie released on an English-friendly Blu-ray, with Season 2 coming out.

I hope, but Crunchyroll is terrible about that. They skipped Date A Live: Mayuri Judgment, which as I understand it, is an integral part of the overall story and goes between two of the show's seasons. I can understand skipping compilation movies but they seem to just hate any movie that is related to a series rather than standalone.

They did release That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond though, so there's at least some bit of hope.

Well, since making that post, TV Asahi has confirmed that Super Sentai will come to an end after 50 years. It will be replaced by a new series called Project R.E.D., with the first entry being called Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity.
