Well at least there's something to pick up this August, as Aniplex USA unveil the second Monogatari Second Season set for Blu-ray and the entirety of Oreimo 2 (plus the controversial OVA episodes) for DVD.

Well, Sony streamed Oreimo to the UK via Crackle for a while.
Now those are two editions I really want. Oreimo is DVD only, right? So no problem there. But what are the odds of Kabukimonogatari being region B compatible? So far I believe all of AoA's Monogatari releases have been compatible, so it's probable (though not certain) this one will be as well, right? (I'm also waiting for confirmation on Nekomonogatari White...)
Not buying Oreimo 2 but I'm definitely in for Kabukimonogatari. I'd say it's very likely to be all-region since there's no real incentive to start locking thing to region A unless a UK/Australian distributor moans about it, and so far AoA seem to get away with it since there's a perception they're 'too expensive' for the crowd here to consider importing.

I might consider Oreimo 2 but I don't own any of the Monogatari series so there is no point buying the new one.
I'm going to hold out for the Blu-ray version (and hopefully they release a domestic version of Season 1 (don't mind if it costs as much as Bakemonogatari did), the import is ridiculously expensive and doesn't even have the Textless Songs).
Looks like Amazon may have leaked out that Viz Media are going to release the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood. It's only 5 volumes so it shouldn't be tough to handle right? Even if it's from the 80s?
Now this is interesting (for me at least), Funimation may have the 2 OVAs from High School DxD from Season 1.
The 2 OVA episodes were released in September 2012 and May 2013 (therefore would be too late to be included in Season 1's box set which was released in August the same year).
If this is true, I wonder how they could release it. Either as part of DxD New (the second season) in early 2015 or give it the Baka & Test OVA treatment (OVA Collection for a good cheap price).

We seem to be getting more and more stray OVAs thesedays, some are because they are tied to Manga releases but others are perhaps because things are licenced so quick that we miss out?

Wouldn't mind too much if they released them together but separate from season 2. Although some places have them listed as episodes 13 and 14, they are more standalone anyway. From what I recall they don't really follow on from the last episode of series 1. Each has it's own stand alone story.

We're still nowhere near getting a release date for Eva 3.33. Look, I'm not saying that there's no good reason for it - "confidentiality clause" and "NDA" keep getting flung around in the rumour mill - but Funimation's stonewalling on the matter isn't doing their PR department any favours.
In the meantime, I can be consoled and look forward to a simultaneous US/Japan release of the manga's final volume.

Nah, in all seriousness, Phantom Blood undoubtedly has its moments, but it's easily the weakest part of Jojo and I think the tv series was right to get through it as quickly as possible. The opening chapters introducing young Jonathan and Dio were so draggy and generally disagreeable that I dropped it on my original attempt to get into the franchise.
In short, if purchasing the manga, don't expect the tv series.
