OreImo was featured on a slide of Aniplex USA's MCM London Comic Con panel. I wonder if someone's sitting on the UK rights?

Also, do I buy season 2? I mean, the ending was....well, I should have expected it from the title.

Now those are two editions I really want. Oreimo is DVD only, right? So no problem there. But what are the odds of Kabukimonogatari being region B compatible? So far I believe all of AoA's Monogatari releases have been compatible, so it's probable (though not certain) this one will be as well, right? (I'm also waiting for confirmation on Nekomonogatari White...)

Not buying Oreimo 2 but I'm definitely in for Kabukimonogatari. I'd say it's very likely to be all-region since there's no real incentive to start locking thing to region A unless a UK/Australian distributor moans about it, and so far AoA seem to get away with it since there's a perception they're 'too expensive' for the crowd here to consider importing.

Manga Entertainment UK have the live-action Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist.

Funimation will handle the distribution of Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist in the United States and Canada through their Giant Ape live action label. It plans to release the series at retail this fall. It is also "working with international distributors Manga Entertainment and Madman Entertainment who will be distributing Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist in the United Kingdom and Australia, respectively."

No surprise, considering that Manga UK were very buddy-buddy with them at Comic Con.

1. Aniplex USA is owned and Funded by Aniplex Japan, so why would they region lock their own products?
2. Aniplex USA releases (At least the Blurays) are authored back in Japan anyway, so I highly doubt they'd lock the discs either.

I'm going to hold out for the Blu-ray version (and hopefully they release a domestic version of Season 1 (don't mind if it costs as much as Bakemonogatari did), the import is ridiculously expensive and doesn't even have the Textless Songs).

Now this is interesting (for me at least), Funimation may have the 2 OVAs from High School DxD from Season 1.
Seems possible Funimation has licensed the 2 OVA episodes of High School DxD

Twitter link

This might be in reference to OVA episode 2 where Rias has a bellydance scene

The 2 OVA episodes were released in September 2012 and May 2013 (therefore would be too late to be included in Season 1's box set which was released in August the same year).

If this is true, I wonder how they could release it. Either as part of DxD New (the second season) in early 2015 or give it the Baka & Test OVA treatment (OVA Collection for a good cheap price).

That twitter link seems to no longer work, perhaps they realised they were spilling the beans?

Another Baka & Test style OVA release would be nice, adding 2 episodes to the 2nd season release might be pushing things too much

We seem to be getting more and more stray OVAs thesedays, some are because they are tied to Manga releases but others are perhaps because things are licenced so quick that we miss out?

Then for reference:

Never expected to sing "vagina goo" to the tune of Mahna Mahna in the booth, but that just happened. #DxD

Hmm, are we sure that's a reference to the OVA's, or just something random they have in the script for S2, or as part of a commentary? (Where things can get really random)

Cool.

Wouldn't mind too much if they released them together but separate from season 2. Although some places have them listed as episodes 13 and 14, they are more standalone anyway. From what I recall they don't really follow on from the last episode of series 1. Each has it's own stand alone story.

It's only 5 volumes so it shouldn't be tough to handle right? Even if it's from the 80s?

You sir, are a disgrace to your avatar.

Nah, in all seriousness, Phantom Blood undoubtedly has its moments, but it's easily the weakest part of Jojo and I think the tv series was right to get through it as quickly as possible. The opening chapters introducing young Jonathan and Dio were so draggy and generally disagreeable that I dropped it on my original attempt to get into the franchise.

In short, if purchasing the manga, don't expect the tv series.
