This is the thing with schools; it's all about grades and following the curriculum "by the book". Too much focus on numbers and not on individual performance. I get that they don't have a one size fits all approach, especially in state-funded schools, but the quality of teaching is shambolic to say the least. My school was awful, our drama teacher got fired for having sex with a pupil as it turned out her sister was a amateur porn star or something and I guess she got jealous and another teacher for drinking between classes, a head teacher who'd barely show himself or have any presence around the school though he randomly gave me a head teacher's commendation award for social studies on last day of Y11.... I was like dude do you even know me lol.

Though one of the heads of year who was known as a strict teacher was a WBA fan so she would always be nice to me lol. One time she ended up giving me a special certificate when we lost the fa cup semi final, usually you need like 150 merits or something to get it lol.
 
I'm a bit curious, ~AyaMachi~, I've always thought the North of Wales was a bit posher compared to where I am, and the usual way to tell is language. What are the idioms there? I know the South uses bwyt and pretty much the whole country uses bugger but that's all I'd really know

I’m scared to ask but what kind of school did you go to?!? Seems like the kids were left to do whatever for the most part!

Unfortunately our school had some unsavoury characters that called themselves teachers. My faves were my P.E teacher and music teacher. Lovely ladies and really understanding and patient. I remember my form tutor desperately wanted me to take French at G.C.S.E, becasue she was trying to "fill the class". She said I was really good, but I didn't want to do it at all, I never enjoyed it after being stuck with an idiot of a teacher, who also taught my mMum when she was at the school, and she told me he was even an idiot back in them days XD

Haha, oh man, the things you'd get certificates for: "here's one for turning up" XD

Pretty much yeah lol. But luckily our year for the most part was pretty tight and since I knew certain people in the year I never got bullied at all from 7-11 unlike a few times at primary. Y7-10 we'd play yu-gi-oh and Pokemon all the time at break and lunch but Y11 we grew up and played cops and robbers, stuck in the mud etc outside instead :p

Lmao. Y11 for people who had full points (they implemented a points system everyone starts with 20 points and you get deducted for bad behaviour) our treat was... bowling. We were like how old do they think we are? Haha.

It's funny, because people tend to be more familiar with the Southern accent, since it's the one that gets more exposure (think Joanna Paige from "Gavin and Stacey"). There is a difference in accent; I'd say the North has a less "sharper" sound to it and more of an "earthy" tone for lack of a better word...as for idioms, I can't think of many off the top of my head, but I know you say "shw mae?" whereas we say "sut mae?" and you say "teisen" and we say "cacen" (my Welsh is rusty, incedentally).

Oh man, I remember taking my Gameboy in to play Pokemon, and swapping cards even though I had no idea how to play the game; I just liked them for the artwork!
