The General Conversation Area

Morning Otaku and Mutsumi and congrats. Have you passed your theory yet? I passed my driving test on the first attempt but for the theory it was two times the charm for me.

Morning guys. Hopefully it's just a precaution because it's such a rare condition. I'd rather go get my head looked at even if it turns out there's nothing worng. Definately not a waste of my time.
On a better note! I've been told I can now have a drink (at my own risk). So this Saturday I think I'll dabble in a few beverages to see how I handle it. XD

woo party time! how's work voddas? i had to put my foot down yesterday because i had enough of my fellow workers taking the piss and not working and leaving mess for me to clean up, i called then all together and lay the law out for them and i told them to get their act together. i am not normally this angry but i was so pissed at them yesterday!

Party time indeed. :D
Sometimes you need to put your foot down Devil. I'm a very calm person but I can't say I've never lost my rag with people before. Problem is, when I lose my rag, I really lose it. DX
As for work, it's been pritty calm at the minute. I've had enough of the crap coming from above, so as of last week I've decided not to do any extra's and just do the job I'm being paid for. I need a break from the red tape...

Speaking of breaks! I'm off next week! WOOOOOO!!!!!!

thing is they still respected me at the end of it because i spoke to them with respect, i was angry but i didn't show it to them. afterwards they came up to me and said sorry which was nice. so thankfully we are still cool with each other. so you don't get any help at work with extra work?

I'm the same, when I say I "lose my rag", I mean it's more in my head than on display. I'm menatlly strangling people at times but the only vibe I give off is that I'm not impressed.
As for extra work, it's not that I don't get help with extra work but rather me doing extra jobs that are suppose to be done by a higher psoition than myself. I train staff but I don't get paid for it. I also deal with high stress clients and other jobs that should be done by a higher level.
Anyway, yeah. I've had enough for now at least.

Harro awl! :)
@Mut - Good news, matey. That's a great boost to push onto the real deal. Keep it up.

@Devil - Yeah, never good to grab someone by the collar and start to swing them around like you're trying to turn them into a blur. Kudos on the calm performance.
I've not had so much of that kind of treatment yet. If something goes wrong, it's only on the odd week that seems to be really busy. I've had similar differculties myself, so I have an understanding for them and I dont get worked up unless it becomes a regular occurance.

@Voddas - Always a good idea to make sure of things for clarity's sake. They do say stress is the main problem in english employment for illnesses and unwellbeing. Never try to get yourself in too deep if you can (even if the boss says you "have to.")

Don't worry Chaz, I won't be letting my job stress me out any time soon. =P

Gaah! I'm trying to decide what series to start watching. Everything that I've been following has either ended or is inbetween seasons! I only have "Lie to me", "Southland" and "30 Rock" to tied me over at the moment. I'm tempted to start watching "West Wing" as a friend borrowed the whole 7 seasons and won't shut up about it. Anyone have any suggestions of good series from the past 10 years?

I've seen House, Grays Anatomy, CSI, Heroes, 24, Lost, Prison Break, Fringe, and Dexter (to name a few). Just so you have an idea of where my tastes lie.

Voddas, Breaking Bad. It's probably the best show on television. It features Hal from Malcolm In The Middle. It recently wrapped its third season in the states. Some of the best acting and writing ever.

I've heard of both series but never had an opportunity to try them out. I know Chuck is about an avareage Joe who has the memories of a secret agent (or something like that). But, I don't know much about Breaking Bad besides Hal being in it. What's it about?

It's not necessarily the plot of Breaking Bad that makes it superb, its the way the show creates this world and these characters. Wikipedia gives a pretty good description - Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He breaks down and turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in a desire to secure his family's financial future.

Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston bounce of each other like its nobodies business. Absolutely fantastic acting. It's created by Vince Gilligan, a former writer on The X-Files and he has some serious skillz.

Sweet! Sounds like a winner to me. *adds Chuck and Breaking Bad to his list*

Now that I've read that, I think it was suggested once before by my brother in law but I never got round to looking into it. I really need a good series to sink my teeth into, also (preferably) a series with a few seasons under it's belt.

Hmm.. something that's a bit long-running? I'm currently watching The Sopranos and that's 6 seasons. The Wire is also 5 seasons. Battlestar Galactica is 4 seasons. Veronica Mars is 3 seasons (as is Deadwood)...

All top notch shows. If you want a comedy, Arrested Development is 53 episodes and your not going to get a better show than that.

Get working on these now. :p

EDIT: Oh yeah, The West Wing. You might as well watch that.

Yes sir! When I get paid next week I'll see if I get some good deals on boxsets and go from there. Shame I have to wait for pay day. =(

Cheers guys! :thumb:
