@Neil.T is pretty amusing. I feel like I've divulged one of his most deepest and darkest of secrets, so I'd better enjoy myself whilst I can before he gets mad...

Did you know that @Neil.T is also obsessed with Lorraine Kelly and has a shrine dedicated to her in his room? I think it's her accent that does it...

He also likes to feed cats, but his problem is that he gives them too much - they look at him with their cute eyes, and he just crumbles, so they get more food. This is why if you go to Scotland all the cats there look like kegs with legs - it's @Neil.T giving them loads of food!

Did you know @Neil.T also volunteered as a test subject to ensure midge burgers pass for human consumption?
Not sure I entirely believe all of those.

One of them IS true though, even he'll tell you! Well, it's kind of true...a little bit...the cats will tell you...

He also likes to give me stellar World Cup "commentary" over the phone. Where would I have been without you @Neil.T during the second half of the Croatia v Argentina match? Ally McCoist would be well jell

World Cup commentary... is he trying to punish you?

Most likely...

Here are some extracts from said commentary (paraphrased since I can't remember word for word):

"Oh, the player in the stripey top just barged into the other player and knocked him over; I wonder if he (the player on the deck) managed to get his number plate..."

"Oh the referree is getting a ticket out, is he writing down the player's contact details?"

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I like @Neil.T style.

Oh and @Teapot we have spambots back again.

On a side note I wish my doctors actually bothered using phones correctly rather than leaving them off the hook. Have been trying to get through for the past ~hour and apparently they’ve been constantly busy in that time.

Rant over.

Hey @~AyaMachi~ the spambot doesn’t want us for anal. Should we feel happy or disappointed? Sorry @Captaaainuniverse but you’re kind of buggered here.
Personally I'm happy, that's...really not my style! 😅 😆

I get that, I was trying to get in touch with my dentist the other week to reschedule an appointment; kept saying the line was busy  I get that the services are stretched but it's hardly efficient.

Efficient as always. Great work there. Now about joining the cult... *slides paperwork over to you*
I love how persistent you are; no messing around! 😂 🤣

Yeah, I feel at times services are stretched quite a lot more badly than they need be by inefficiency. Some of the ways of doing things seems very peculiar.

As for persistency, you don’t get what you want without being a little persistent... 😇

I missed the spam bot - would I have been offered something glorious by our surprisingly unwanted visitor?
I'll have to see when I can get to the opticians on my days off, hopefully they won't be like certain dentists and doctors.
I'd be making another haberdashery otherwise, but it involves me studying watamote... whose got a desk full of anti depressants?

Totally. I hate GP's anyway. I always feel like I'm being rushed through the door as soon as I go in, well, I do with my current surgery anyway...serivces are stretched, but they still have a duty of care to provide their service in the best way they can!

Didn’t miss anything spectacular. Spambot wanted you carnally. Buggery may or may not have been involved.

Thankfully my docs aren’t quite that bad but certainly still feels like docs could do with having more time to asses their patients. I guess ultimately there’s a lot of sick people out there.

Oh my surgery is terrible. It's 10 mins per patient, but you always feel like they're just trying to get rid of you before you've even sat down. I never seem to feel like I'm being taken seriously, which is a shame. I rarely complain, yet if something isn't right that I don't quite understand what's going on, naturally I want to speak to a professional about it. I'm running on empty at the moment with my B12, and not due an injection until next week. I always flag around the 10 week mark, but I'm reluctant to bring it up because whenever I've complained about feeling symptomatic before they just do a bunch of diagnostic tests (bloods, ECG, spyrometry etc) and if everything is clear, then as far as they're concerned, you're fine!

I personally think they just need to listen to patients more and look at the symptoms of individuals rather than just relying on black and white data from test results the whole time.

I fully agree with you. If they listened they could well get to the bottom of things more quickly. Thankfully I finally managed to get through and have an appointment now.

In regards to tests, I’m kind of in two minds on that one depending why the tests are being done. Ultimately if they’re done to rule things out then I don’t really have an issue with it. For instance; I have a couple lumps on my neck whilst waiting for an ultrasound I’ve had bloods taken. I feel that’s ultimately a good move. In other cases like the one you’ve mentioned I feel ultimately I agree with you as let’s face it who’s going to be more aware of how an ongoing condition/illness etc. is going to be effecting the patient. The patient or a doctor relying on test results? That being said if it’s for instance the first time you’ve alerted them to you feeling like you’re flagging towards when you need the injection I can undetrstand taking bloods as a precautionary measure after that it seems like a waste of time for them to simply rely on the results. They might as well have advised a shorter wait time between injections as let’s face it, I can’t see there being any reason that shortening the wait between injections by a week or so could be harmful in any way.

Totally, I get what you're saying there, I understand the need for doing the tests to rule out specific things, but there seems like there's too much of a reliance on them and not enough of taking patient's individual symptoms into consideration. It's just about listening more, as you've said, which I don't think they do enough of.

Regarding the injection, I hate bringing anything up about it these days. I just go in, get it done, and get out, I don't even bother talking about it because I feel like even when they ask me about it, they're doing it as a sort of pleasantry; not unlike how Brisith people ask, "Hey, how's thing?" - we don't really want to know, but we're just asking because it's obligatory...

I'm no expert but they seem to make out that too much hydroxocobalamin can be toxic, but then I've read articles that state it's actually a water-based protein and any waste is excreted with urine, so it's impossible to over-dose on it. Somehow I don't see how bringing it forward two weeks would be that harmful, but then, I'm not the expert. There are people who self inject and give themselves weekly injections!

OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER: I'm NOT a medical expert!!!
