It was the same at my uni; just not the right equipment for doing the job, in a uni full of multi-media; photography; animation; graphic artists and illustrators no less...kind of needed decent software!

They always have dude. I was on a 2 year course where I had to edit in iMovie on Macs. Took us all dang day to edit a few minutes of video because the Macs and the program run like the stock market during a pre war era
