yup you're right it's pretty obscure here, some schools still like to teach it though. before I left school though the teachers and students were so awful at it that they struck it from their curriculum. I'll be honest I moved schools halfway through year 9 and the teachers at the new school never taught me a word. I had a guy who kept telling us "it's not rocket science" then just a substitute teacher then a fresh faced lass that just talked about her fiancee and being preggars

Oh wow! We had really good Welsh teachers in our school. I did actually have a head start though; the primary school I went to for the first 6 years was Welsh speaking, and then we moved house (and schools), I then had a head-start over my classmates since it wasn't as emphasised as a subject. I went to highschool and got 90% at G.C.S.E (the highest in the school), but never really used it since...I wouldn't mind getting back into it at some point, even just general conversational standard...
