Update: Valve have confirmed to RPS that this withdrawal of support for Steam transactions by one of PayPal's acquiring banks "is regarding content on Steam, related to what we’ve previously commented on surrounding Mastercard". "In this case, one of PayPal’s acquiring banks decided to stop processing any Steam transactions, which cut off PayPal on Steam for a number of currencies," a Valve spokesperson added.





I hope it doesn't happen here in the uk. Banks should not get to decide what legal media people buy just because it hurts their brand and Mastercard is not a brand there a bank

They dropped PS4 this time. That isn't surprising, but it means I won't get to play this one. :( I have the PS3 version but would like this since it will include Japanese audio.

A lot of being an otaku is giving Bandai money for a project you really want to support while also knowing they are going to pull the rug out from under your feet. This happens to me several times a year and I really liked Xillia so it will happen again even if they should have at least announced Xillia 2 as well.
 
Star Ocean: First Departure R is getting a physical release by Limited Run Games on PS4 and Switch.

I'm not sure if this was previously announced or shadow dropped when the pre-orders went live but I thought it might peak the interest of a few people here.

After thoroughly enjoying the demo of Star Ocean 2 I bought Star Ocean 1, 3 and 4 digitally on sale though I'm yet to play any of them so I do already own it but I may order this before the pre-order window is up anyway to add it to my physical collection.

Seriously though, this looks pretty good. Considering that Squenix had probably lost the licence to the Parasite Eve name by the time the awkwardly titled The 3rd Birthday was released on PSP, we will likely never get a new or remade official game.
