The Firfox download day

sure opera is a good browser, considering the only browser to be on games consoles like the wii and DS, but as far as extensions and add ons go Firefox rains supreme

plus firefox is open source, so added bonus to the C++ freaks

I don't like Firefox at all but my current work install is flakey so might join in updating from beta to help ram their servers.

I haven't yet found a single Windows browser I like. Firefox and K-Meleon are closest but neither suits me fully :/

At home I dual wield Safari and Camino (which is Firefox done right...IMO).

Camino huh, freeware, opensource built on the gecko engine and covering the same licensing acts.

yep it's a perfect mirror of firefox for the Mac

Could it be a person is browsing this site on a "Mac"   :!: :!:

I will definitely be getting Firefox 3 tomorrow :D I'm not a huge browser buff, but all I know is Firefox kicks IE's arse therefore I use it ^_^

sure, but considering firefox is cross platform

but considering me what I said is wrong, what I meant was that it's a mirror of Firefox, but only developed to be used on OSx

yea, thats what I mean. :D

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Opera, I'm just saying it's the best in terms of the average user (which happens to be the vast userbase). Only a small amount of people use the add on's for FF.

Good add ons are the Rikaichan and Greasemonkey (when it decides to work.)

I think you meant anti-firefox

but yeah I just thought I note people, on this epic event

but through statistics on the web for last year 20% of user were using firefox, making it the second popular. Oprea was only 0.69% coming in forth.

though I'd admit it speed capabilities in bring up varies technologies on sites is far superior

Thank you, mentally ambivalent one, for pointing out my stupidity.

Statistics don't mean anything really, as over 90% (I'll have to confirm that) of computer users are PC based, making IE the preinstalled browser. Since most people aren't very PC savvy, they are going to stick with their base browser-- hell, probably even being completely oblivious to the fact that alternatives do exist.

Same goes for Mac users, they'll stay with Safari unless they have the knowledge and reason to switch.

If users had to download their own browser, then Mozilla and Opera would win gangbusters style, for sure. No doubt Mozilla would spank the userbase.

I'll be downloaded FF3 anyway, as I still use it for torrenting and checking code versatility.

Arguing about which browser is superior is lame.

As long as they work well for you and your PC, there's no point in arguing.

were not arguing maxy, were mearly having a profound discussion
and considering not all browsers usable *cough*IE6*cough*

then it is important to at least shed some light

Using IE for browsing is like using your Gillette razor to mow the lawn.

Face facts Tony, or Maxon as it were.
