Nope. I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray.

And a PS3.. :p

But, everyone here with Sky/Cable etc should be watching this, even if youy have the DVD. As they said, if it does well they might air more anime in future.

Here's their ratings from a couple of weeks ago.

Syfy (was Sci Fi Channel)
w/e 22 May 2011

1 V (THU 2101) 549
2 V (THU 2200) 374
3 FILM: THE MEDALLION (SAT 1919) 158
4 V (FRI 1959) 144
5 FILM: DOOMSDAY (WED 2100) 84
6 V (FRI 2100) 84
7 SHARKTOPUS (SUN 2100) 82
8 V (SUN 1700) 66
9 HAVEN S1 (TUE 2100) 65
10 DINOSHARK (TUE 2200) 64
Seriously, even if it doesn't do well enough to convince them to air more anime, but I atleast want it to do better than Sharktopus or Dinoshark
if you can, please keep me up dated with anime thats coming up on sci-fi and il watch them if it helps with the ratings

someone should make a post schedule for anime that,ll be coming up on tv
Well, at the moment, there's only this and some kids's shows.

If anime becomes a regular thing on Syfy, I'll post schedules up every month when I get them.

dude ............... you are a 110% golden star
i wrote to sci-fi a few years ago actually to ask if they could bring back night time anime like in the old days and nearly a year later they said anime wasn't getting much ratings back then. but if we all start watching them again they should be popular

the people thats looking after syfy are probably ignorant people who think animes stupid and ever they put on is satisfactory to them.
i wish different channels would experiment and put on some shows that other people haven't seen before.
by the way which post should i look for the schedule

Syfy has to do whatever it has to do to keep surviving. Whether or not we're happy about it doesn't matter if it's still getting them viewers and money.

Too bad though that this weren't a month later, I would have Sky to myself then.

back in the day sky had everything but now its not worth watching
unless there a documentary, or i feel like watching a comedy, a anime, ect but back in the day sky had everything

I know Sky isn't everything, but it has it uses at times. I hope you weren't mistaking my previous fact as a sign I was signing upto Sky - not worth it.

That's rediculous. Do you think everyone at Sky1 is a huge fan of The Simpsons? No, they put it on half a dozen times a day because it does well in the ratings.

The fact that they're showing Akira means they're atleast willing to give it a shot, which is more than you can say about any other UK TV channel.

As for other Sky channels, they're not perfect, and they never have been.
Sure, there's less anime since 'back in the day', but apart from that, there's occasionally some great shows on.

Just for reference, not everyone watching will affect the ratings in the slightest. Only like 5000 houses have the BARB box. If you get a questionnaire from them, though, that would add up to something.

Well, they use cable information to check the numbers.

Or that might just be the US.

But, still, it's the 14th channel in the Sky Guide, so hopefully a bunch of those with questionnaires come across it.

Just saw a promo for Akira on syfy last night. i've not seen it and have already pre-ordered the bluray but imma gonna watch it to see what the hell im payin for :p
