Sony purchase Sky EPG slot

Community would be AMAZING. Viva just doesn't cut it. And, it being an action channel? (AXN = Action, genius no?) I imagine Star Trek will end up showing fifteen times a day.

Sony have a large anime catalogue and it would make sense to fill up some of the time with anime. I wouldn't rule out stuff like Blood+ on it or in comedy shows like the Boondocks and Dilbert on it.

Now would be a good time for Paradox to email Turner and ask for their take on this........

Star Trek is already gonna be on Sky Atlantic 15 times a day already :p

Also, I do think "AXN" gives off an 'action' feel to it. They would also put on comedy in their catalouge like Seinfeld since it hasn't been on UK TV since the days of Paramount Comedy.

I'm hoping [as] has stuff from AnimeCentral and Rapture, like Bleach, FMA, Death Note, Geass and Bebop and ANIMAX would have stuff from Anime Network, like Evangelion and Elfen Lied.

Also, I won't email Turner cos it's not their channel and I already know they can't say future stuff about [as]. I have emailed Electric Sofa to see if they're gonna air some anime on one of their new channels. I know they might have Dave Letterman and Craig Ferguson.

Also, when was that Adult Swim focus group meant to be? Because I might email Turner after that happens since they might have new info..

And.... it looks like it will remain Film24. They are still not launching animax.

It won't as Film 24 is due to shut down, Sony are letting Canis take control until SPT launch their unknown channel in 2011. A likely guess is that it will either AXN or something.
I'm putting my money on "something". Anime on TV is a cursed business.

I loved AnimeCentral, but I felt it could have lasted longer if CSC had put it as a block on one of their other channels...at the least, they wouldn't have had to resort to endless repeats or G.I. Joe...

Did Boondocks even air on UK TV at all?

It aired earlier this year on Virgin1 at like, 5am. UK people would rather watch Friends it seems.

Craig Ferguson.
Ooh, that's super exciting! I emailed the UK CBS channels a while back and said they were looking into it, but whatever, I want CraigyFerg! Easily the best Late Night presenter.

AXN isn't an anime channel, it's just a channel. And we're hoping that at least ANIMAX becomes a block on there. Cos it would work (similar to The Anime Network until ADV closed)

As far as I'm aware, it didn't.
Although, I found out Ugly Americans was on Fiver after Archer finished. Not sure if either show is coming back though :(

Freinds has been repeated to Death on E4. Then later this year, it's gonna be repeated to death on another channel D:

AnimeCentral WAS a block. It was a 3 hour late night block on Popgirl but OFCOM rules dictated that it could not be in the 'kiddies' section. So they just moved it for the duration of the block to channel 188.

It's all down to the inherent cultural dogma that "cartoons are strictly for kids", which as we all know is complete bollox and has been since the late 80's, but sadly the Big Giant Heads who are in charge of things haven't woken up to that yet. There wasn't any problem with Anime Central being on the entertainment listing, the problem was not telling anyone, leaving it up to word of mouth and people just stumbling across it. and not supporting it to die on the vine anyway.

Yeah I know. I meant "something" as "something not anime", because Anime on TV has never seemed to work, unless it's to sell a product for kids.

Freinds has been repeated to Death on E4. Then later this year, it's gonna be repeated to death on another channel D:
When will they just let Friends die?

In fact, pretty much all TV these days is "[X] Repeated to Death".

I know this is off-topic, but might as well keep going until some on-topic news comes up, but...

In 2011, The Daily Show will be leaving More4.

What. The. Hell? I really hope Comedy Central Uk starts showing Stewart and Colbert =/

I like Friends

Friendship is a weakness of the human soul. The only way to grow truly strong is to sever the bonds you've formed; that's a road to greater power.

...That said, I don't like Friends, and I don't intend to ever watch it.

Yeah, I need Colbert/Stewart together. It's stupid we only get half of the show. I don't watch them that often though, Craig Ferguson is more important for me right now.

And, even though I think there are far far better things out there, its, imo, really sad Aion has never watched it. I have fond memories of watching it back when it was properly airing.

Because it's not commercially viable at this present moment.

Yeah, I hope someday this happens
Conan at 10pm - Any Channel
Stewart & Colbert at 11pm - Comedy Central
Letterman and Ferguson at 12am - That Electric Sofa Channel

Did Turner themselves tell you this?
Because I don't see how it wouldn't be commercially viable, they don't run ads after 10pm on CN. If they split the channel into 2 seperate numbers and broadcast CN on one and AS on the other, they would actually be making money :?
