Some guy hates anime fans

...Im almost tempted to suggest we invade the forum and just start creating post about upcoming (american) anime dvd releases and movies. If he truly feels the way he does it would be an interesting way to hit him back. But I'm fairly confident that he would love the attention more than anything else.

I believe that attention is all that he wants... His article lacks substance to the point he doesn't even know that one of the animations he mentions as a good one (animatrix) is actually anime.

Not visiting that site ever again, so I don't mind about what he thinks. A bad review on a movie I like is something bearable, but attacking a whole "media" with several representations on all genres is simply stupid.

Also stop posting in the comments, hes only using it for bragging rights.

"The comment bank is an enjoyable trainwreck of people berating me by acting and saying exactly how I said they would.

I'm still debating which ones to approve, I might leave that arduous task to Josh

OK here goes, can always delete them later.

And I guess the point was to reach Mack levels of comment hate."

I did tinker with the idea of whether to link the article or not. I recognize that the author really has no intention of retracting his opinions and is most likely trolling for attention (the column title "bad fandom" seems to suggest that it's some kind of stupid feature on that website), but it's infuriating to read it none the less. What annoys me most of all is that it's being read by people who aren't anime fans, people who might not even have an opinion one way or the other; I'd hate to think someone might read that worthless excuse for writing and decide not to bother with anime. Basically, it's stuff like this that really pisses me off and sets a fire inside me, so rather than bottle it up, I figured it would be provide us with some 'nice' entertainment for the evening.

Nah ive gone from annoyed to entertained. He posts an article and then brags about it in the sites forum talking as if its not a public space. I can then laugh at him get off on his own words and watch the thread build up into exactly the kind of fanboy elitism that he rails against in the first place. I can then come here and brag about that and get off on my own words.

Ths is a personal favourite by 'crevette' :- Ah, well. As I tell my gamer geek spouse, the best revenge you have on those types of people is the mere fact that you're having intercourse with a partner who doesn't need to be inflated first. That kind of makes you a God to them.

Now all I need to do is register on the site and link back to this thread and the zen circle is complete.

I see your point =) like I said pathetic. I have no idea of figures in UK, but back home (Brazil) there were more titles of manga in shelves than usual comics.

Also, there was as many anime aired in there as your regular cartoons...
I believe anime is not stronger because of something that most anime fans love... It's extremely diverse. There are more anime genres then your average live action, so getting fruit basket and dragon ball and compare to the Toy story and ratatouille is like comparing the artistic value of ramones and Beethoven. While Fruit Basket, Dragon ball and Ramones might be fun, they have almost no artistic value adn that's ok, because it's supposed to be entertainment after all...

NOW, comparing a TV series to cinema material is also unfair. Budgets are lower, so quality follows. Now the last nail on the coffin has got to be he-man... =)

Revenge is sweet and sour ;D

I never get article's like these.
It's an angst filled article made so there following can stroke there e-penis, if your gonna bash something leave the fans out of it other wise all creditabilty just vanishes.
Everything has a fan following anime, star trek, comics, motor bikes, cars hell i'm sure i saw a forum for pencils once, it's stupid to think there not going to get pissed.

The guy that has written that is probably some guy who has to stick to what he believe and cannot change, also i bet he hasnt actually watched good anime, hes just basing it on pokemon and DBZ (not saying they are bad, just hes only seen those).

People like this are pathetic and need to keep there so called 'opinions' to themselves.

i hope this guy gets hit by a f*****g bus and burns in hell

lets send him death letters
(my idea of a postal kill)

i find it funny how he can critisize anime fans when he clearly has no idea what hes actually saying, i mean he commented on the japanese (and to put it in basic terms) said its perfectably acceptable to become perverted in japan....within rights i guess that blog and the authors profile could be terminated due to racism... and yes its true some anime shows girls knickers, but if you take a look at the cover, most of the time its age rating is 18+ . to be honest its jerks like him that give others a bad name and people shouldn'y waste 5mins reading his false garbage

Bah, the guys just an idiot. But that wouldn't stop me from backhanding some sense into him.

I want to find and go super saiyin on him for comparing the brilliant Ghibli films to some of the most boring films by Pixar

i wanna watch lol then probably use a jutsu on him to turn him into a football we can all kick the hell out of :thumb:

Hmm, although i disagree with what he says, he has every right to say it. Media such as anime shall forever remain subjective; it is not a simple equation that can be defined as either 'good' or 'bad'.

Currently, we have reached the point in anime's life cycle where everything that looks like ‘anime’ is self consciously considered better than everything else. If it's not western animators trying to make their stuff look like anime (Avatar, Totally Spies), its western comic artist's calling their work manga.

Having said that, this guy seems to be the complete opposite who prefers western animation and ideology over eastern and his rational behind that thinking is lacking in what I would consider as ‘logic’, but who am I to argue against another faceless blogger of the internet who causes friction with his words?
