Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison Cancelled

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

Wow! I don't get it, they still plan the DVD solo release, so why cancel the solo blu-ray? I have zero interest in Naruto but this is pretty f'd up, reasons like this Manga are my last resort when it comes to anime, they have already f'd up DBZ:BoG and AoT (stripping the blu-ray extra's and shoving them on a DVD disc) I believe on the podcast it was mentioned that authoring blu-ray is cheaper, so what gives?

I agree with bakum4tsu, they should at least give a comment, the fact they have not said anything about this makes it worse.

4 days later and not a peep from Manga. What a joke.

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

I quite enjoy Naruto (minus fillers), but I dont buy the series cause its way too big and I'm pretty sure I will never rewatch it so I usually just get the movies. In case I miss the show later on, I can always watch the movies and get the nostalgia back but I was buying them on dvd only cause they are not worth it on blu-ray imo. However, this was I was planning to get the bd/dvd combo... lol Guess I will get the dvd then... or maybe just buy the bd box..

Please don't do that because you're playing into their hands then. That's exactly what they want you to do. Wait to see if they realise how much of a cockup this is and release a solo BD.
Failing that, you're better off just waiting for the final film to be released and buying the 1-6 box set. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull something equally stupid it comes to a solo BD for that too.

It's a Naruto movie (Which to say it's a Jump movie so it will mean a grand load of butt in terms of cannon). What is there to expect?

I say it's the perfect item to just throw both hands up and look the other way, I say.

If I do that its just cause I have all of the rest on dvd too for the reasons I said above. But these days, I'm 100% BD over DVD unless there's no BD option. I have no rush about this movie at all, so I will wait and see what happens. :)

There is always the Viz version but then again that's an option for owners with Region A access.

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

Still nothing....
It's getting on my nerves now to be honest. I may have to get that Madman release if there is no sign of a single release.
We just want some answers!

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

I miss the days when Manga did a podcast episode almost every other week - they'd have addressed this like a snap in one of those. But maybe they're saving it up for a big, in-depth discussion?

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

probably going to just brush it under the rug, let's be realistic here.

Re: Solo Blu-ray Release of Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Bl

I have just tweeted to them, even though I'm sure many already have. If they wanted to talk about this at MCM which is one thing I can see why the would like to rather than typing it on the facebook and
have all these comments coming back calling them this that and the other like in this thread. Which I understand is not really nice on doing so and even Jeremy did take his time to comment on here.
But I also think with big series such as Naruto I don't thinking holding the news for 2 weeks is really good either. If it were a smaller series and have mentioned that they will talk about it then sure.
What worries me and most of you is will we ever have an answer on this decision because they haven't said anything, and that's the thing! Will we ever know!

EDIT:

And I just want to put this out there, I have forwarded all the feedback on this back to Manga HQ. Whether anything can be changed is something I don't know at this time.
(Try the being the guy who had to deliver this news...)

Which is good and all that the feedback IS being heard. But WHY was this decision made in the first place. That's what I would like to know.
