When it comes to Manga this year, and what they did with the Attack on Titan extras, along with this, it really is the year of the 'money grubbing bastard'

On 1st December, Manga Entertainment UK will be releasing <strong>Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison</strong> the fifth theatrical feature based on Masashi Kishimoto's iconic Weekly Shonen Jump manga, <em>Naruto</em>. As with previous releases in the franchise, the movie was originally slated to be released in three different ways: a standard DVD, a standard blu-ray and as part of a boxset, featuring the four preceeding theatrical features.
Today however, Manga UK announced on their Twitter account to announce that the standard blu-ray release of the movie has been cancelled and instead, the high definition version of <em>Naruto Shippuden The Movie 5: Blood Prison </em>will be exclusive to the pentalogy boxset, which will be released on the same day. The movie will still be available as a standalone DVD.
Earlier today, Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed that the original manga will be ending on 10th November, ending the series' fifteen year run.

I can't really see the logic behind this decision, unless Manga UK want to push more sales of the box sets? In which case, why not just cancel the box sets and wait until they get around to releasing The Last: Naruto The Movie?
To be honest, I didn't buy a single home video release of Harry Potter until after the release of Deathly Hallows, as I knew that I would be able to buy a complete boxset of all 8 films. I'm doing the same with Naruto.

This doesn't make any sense. It can't be the Japanese decision because Viz Media was able to release the film on its own (as a combo pack in fact).

That said, having these films together in one set is great for those (like myself) who haven't bought them but I'm going to wait, there's going to be some kind of QC issue.

WTF! Not happy in the slightest. I already have all the Naruto films on blu-ray but now If I want to own the latest one I need to buy a freaking boxset so I have them all twice?! what a joke. Genuinely angry.
Let me guess, when Road to Ninja (move 6) finally releases here, we will have to buy another boxset to get it on blu-ray, right? :roll:

...And that is the sound of people going to download BR Rips/1080p copies from the internet. A film like that is not gonna be difficult to find and you do not want to make it harder for people to buy in the best possible format like this.

WTF!!! :twisted: :twisted: Have brought the single releases of the movies every time they came out, I will not be buying the boxset as already own the other 4 films, off to buy the Naruto movies from the USA, thanks for nothing Manga, might even stop buying the naruto series and import that aswell.

I feel really bad for the dedicated people who were collecting the movies as singles up until now. The people at Manga UK have absolutely no idea how it is to be a fan in the UK rather than a distributor; they've completely lost the plot.
