Any idea when Gonzo's Shangri La comes out in UK? Looks real good.

Depends when an American firm will licence it, and that can also depend on how popular the series in question is.
If anything I reckon FUNi would pick it up in a years time

^ I don't think you even need to subscribe or be a member to watch it any more.

Think I saw the first episode of this - seemed like an interesting premise, then I read mostly average-to-bad comments about it so I never got round to picking this up again. They dropped the last six single-DVD releases in favour of a box set in Japan, and the commentary on it I've seen indicates that wasn't entirely a "state of the market in general" thing. Doesn't bode well for a physical US/UK release any time soon.

I watched it all the way through... It's a nice premise, executed well, and it's interesting to see Global Warming, environmental collapse, and how humanity reacts to it, explored in anime. There's a carbon trading subplot that I found quite intriguing...

But come the end, it all goes totally Gonzo. Not a fulfilling ending at all.

I liked it, although it definitely went rather wrong towards the end.
I'm a big fan of Range Murata so would have imported it for the coverart if nothing else, had I had the money to spare, which I didn't. Still rather surprised FUNimation have never touched it given their relationship with Gonzo.

Wow, was quite excited when I saw this thread as I thought someone had finally licensed it. Like Shiroi, can't understand why Funi never got involved.
